The Sales representative is responsible for selling our clients brands to customers. The sales representative has a dedicated area in the Overberg and Winelands area, which they are responsible for achieving agreed upon revenue and growth targets as well as meeting business KPI’s


  • Perform sales calls as the call cycle requires
  • Identify new and prospective customers and continuously add to customer base by either cold calling or following up on leads
  • Achieve agreed upon sales targets set my management
  • Managing deadlines
  • Submitting daily reports on time
  • Providing feedback timeously
  • Responding to emails
  • Managing the relationship between customer and supplier
  • Liaising with back-office team and supply chain to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Thorough understanding of margin, mark up and how to use these functions on the calculators provided
  • Thorough understanding of how to calculate and apply free stock deals
  • Computer literacy of MS Office
  • Ensuring that credit customers are paying on or before terms are due
  • Continuously seek out opportunities in stores to grow sales and maximise stores potential by :
  • Tying up combo deals
  • In store promotions
  • Tying up of promotional grids
  • Gain additional forward share
  • Following the returns policy procedure
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction
  • Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships
  • Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends
  • Continuously improve through feedback
  • Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments

  • Proven work experience as a sales representative.
  • Ability to measure and analyse key performance indicators (ROI and KPIs)
  • Understanding of store operations

  • MS office proficient
  • Understanding of the Spar Insights, Pick n Pay portal and Shoprite Webby systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with a problem-solving attitude
