About the role :
We are currently hiring for permanent full-time TMS Engineer to join the team based in Sydney. In this role, you will work with a team of experts to support the development, delivery, and acceptance of the Traffic Management Systems (TMS) for the programme.
You will lead the technical workstream and interface with other European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 2 (L2) sub-systems.
Practical experience and knowledge of TMS, ETCS L2 (and sub-systems), signalling, and rail engineering are all must have skills for this role.
You will also be a good communicator, a great teammate and able to build rapport with others.
What you will be involved in :
Working to deliver the requirements of the Digital Systems Program (DSP) which meets our clients expectations.
Supporting the technical TMS work stream for the DSP team, achieving business objectives by owning functional work and interfaces that meet key project milestones and performance objectives.
Providing technical guidance for the TMS and be responsible for its integration with other sub-systems.
Giving expert advice and interpreting the technical requirements for compliance with statute, system design, national and international standards and industry practice.
Offering technical advice for planning the implementation of TMS control systems to support the introduction of ETCS Level 2 onto the rail network.
Providing technical expertise for the implementation of operational specifications, policies and procedures to ensure efficient, effective and safe working.
Ensuring all technical work is completed in accordance with the plan delegated by the Lead Project Engineer and to a high standard.
Working collaboratively with the client and all key stakeholders to build good work relationships.
Experience & Qualifications :
Knowledge of ETCS L2 and sub-systems (e.g. trackside, onboard, FTN, DTRS, ATO)
Strong background in engineering management of signalling projects, preferably a TMS or an equivalent system
Experience of delivering rail projects to successful completion on time and within budget
Attention to detail when listening to stakeholders (from many different disciplines) and capturing their thought processes
Developed report writing ability and strong IT proficiency including MS Office applications
Ability to prioritise work and deliver to tight deadlines under pressure
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Relevant professional and academic qualifications
