Durban - this is a position for a senior executive to lead the finance and administration function of the organisation, and provide effective professional leadership, and ensure the establishment and implementation of sound financial management.
Duties Develop short- and long-term strategic financial objectives, in line with overall business strategy. Direct and oversee all aspects of the financial management, accounting and reporting functions of the organisation.
Provide financial advice and support to the CEO. Provide financial reporting to the Board and Sub-Committees. Manage and minimise the company’s financial risk exposure by maintaining an effective system of internal controls in liaison with the relevant assurance providers.
Accurate financial reporting in accordance with the relevant regulatory requirements and international standards. Provide Executive Committee with advice on the financial implications of business activities, and provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analysis, reports and recommendations.
Liaise with external auditors and attends to audit queries. Minimum requirements Chartered Accountant or equivalent with at least 10 years’ post-qualification experience.
Minimum 5-7 years’ financial management experience at senior management and / or executive level. Advanced knowledge of international financial reporting standards Strong excel skills and financial modelling expertise will be an added advantage Advanced knowledge and understanding of accounting principles, Commercial law, and all related compliance legislations.
Good understanding and knowledge of the formulation and implementation of policies and procedures.
