Basic Functions :

This position serves as a subject matter expert for a specific team of Software Engineers. In addition to writing code on complex systems and applications, this position provides direction on project plans, schedules, and methodologies.

The position has direct reports.

Desired Skills & Experience Minimum Requirements :

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Software Developer
  • University degree / diploma in Computer Science or a related discipline (or equivalent years in experience)
  • SDLC knowledge and practical experience thereof
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Prior people management experience
  • Duties and Responsibilities :

    Reporting to the Software Development Manager the duties and responsibilities of the Software Development Project Leader include :

  • Guide team development efforts towards successful project delivery
  • Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship
  • Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits
  • Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team
  • Collaborate with other software developers, software quality analysts, business analysts and software architects to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain web-based business applications and services
  • Assist in the collection and documentation of user's requirements, development of user stories, estimates and work plans
  • Prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software
  • Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards
  • Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code
  • Support deployment of releases via automated processes (CI / CD)
  • Develop, refine, and tune integrations between applications
  • Analyze and resolve technical and application problems
  • Assess opportunities for application and process improvement and prepare documentation of rationale to share with team members and other affected parties
  • Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget
  • Research and evaluate a variety of software products
  • Perform as a People Manager establish yearly KPO / OKRs for their team members and align these with the company goals
  • Champion and foster growth of the product and the team members
  • Be familiar with the Software Development Life Cycle and can readily drive any aspect thereof
  • Assist team in overcoming hurdles or any blockers that could delay deliverables
  • Core Competency Requirements :

  • Proficient with Microsoft .NET 4.6+ and .Net Core development using C#
  • Proficient with Angular, Rest API’s, Bootstrap, TypeScript, Identity Server, Swagger
  • In depth knowledge and experience with SQL Server
  • Extensive experience designing and developing enterprise grade software
  • Experience with source control management systems and continuous integration / deployment environments using tools like TFS / Azure / GIT
  • Experience with automated testing
  • Experience with agile development methodologies including Kanban and Scrum
  • Experience with multi-threading
  • Experience with debugging, performance profiling and optimization
  • Comprehensive understanding of object-oriented and service-oriented application development techniques and theories
  • Internally motivated, able to work proficiently both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to lead and motivate team to perform at their best
  • Good conflict management skills
  • Strong communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders
  • Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes
  • Experience with database development including relational database design, SQL and ORM technologies
  • Eagerness to research and learn new technologies / frameworks to improve software cycle times (feature delivery and application improvements)
  • Knowledge of Message Q technology (optional)
  • Net Core knowledge and skillset (bonus)
