OWS Engineer - Cape Town Introduction Responsible for the system administration and technical support of all OSS platform.

  • Daily operations administration, installation, maintenance, configuration of systems and support for OSS Systems. Duties &
  • Responsibilities Confirms project requirement by reviewing program objective, input data, and output requirements with analyst, supervisor and client Arranges project requirements in programming sequence by analyzing requirements;
  • preparing a work flow chart and diagram using knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, programming language and logic Encodes project requirements by converting work flow information into computer language Confirms program operation by conducting tests Prepares guide for users Maintain historical records by documenting program development and revisions Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential Ensures operation of equipment by following manufacturer'
  • s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops;

  • Qualification Bachelor Degree or above in electronic, computer, communications, science and engineering professionals Advanced java programming Advanced SQL Advanced java script programming Familiar with JavaScript framework Advance web programming (CSS, html) SNMP &
  • MIB knowledge Mongo dB NoSQL database Web templating i.e. apache tiles, etc. Customer Focus Performance and Results Orientated Teamwork Effective Communication and Impact Continuous Improvement and Managing Change Willingness to work flexible hours and 24x7 availability Office hours Travel (on a need basis) : will go to the regional office for FME onsite training if needed On call : need to be available on phone after hours to support GNOC / FME issues
