The main purpose of the job : The Manager of Quality & VPS, Durban KD Operations has the overall responsibility to secure that we deliver quality secured products from our Durban KD plant.
Responsibility to localize, harmonize and implement our GTO concepts and target styles such as VPS Volvo Production System and the VOC Volvo Operations Concept in order to enhance the continuous improvement work and striving for excellence as well as to manage and control the Quality, Safety & Environmental management systems.
Reporting : This position reports to the Director Durban Plant
Drive, cascade and deliver business KPI’s (SQDCEP).
Together with plant management team lead the implementation / development of Quality, Safety & Environment management systems, the products audited in accordance to the Volvo audit manual, to secure the feedback downstream / upstream to secure all actions in order to improve and secure the Production process to deliver high standard Quality products into the local market.
Implement the Product Audit and Claims process
Plan and coordinate Product Auditor development training making sure we have the sufficient level and number of auditors in the plant.
Participate in GAT and Global KD sessions.
Secure and support Production team competence and adherence regarding Quality Requirements.
Secure and coordinate campaigns within Durban KD Operations.
Establish and ensure the prescribed approach regarding Claims handling (MQR & DQR) of our plant.
Lead and coordinate the VPS / VOC way of working within Durban KD Operations.
Represent Durban KD Operations in the Regional Quality Functions / networks.
Coordinate Management and Environmental systems.
Establish Quality plans within projects of introducing new products or new plants / changed processes.
CAT - Calibration and Audit training.
University degree (Bachelor degree in Mechanical / Industrial / Quality Management)
Demonstrating a high and solid level in Leadership competencies for the leading people’s level, the Manager of Quality & VPS will be an inspiring and inclusive leader as well as an active team worker.
Business oriented with an ability to work cross functionally.
Experience and good skills from industrial Manufacturing environment.
Excellent Lean Manufacturing skills.
Good knowledge about Automotive- Quality driven processes and routines.
Good Knowledge about Occupational Health & Safety Act, processes & compliances.
Good understanding of all Group Trucks Products and product data structure.
Good knowledge and experience of ISO and Management systems.
Knowledge of Volvo organization and administrative routines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in the English language.
Overall 8-10 years of Quality experience including 3 years at management level.
