Shared Applications Manager

Global IT Service Delivery (GITSD)

The Function

GITSD designs, builds and operates a portfolio of shared applications and infrastructure services and is responsible for IT service management and integration firm-

wide. GITSD is a matrix organisation leveraging central and regionally federated IT operations and a range of strategic suppliers.

It works closely with Global CTO and CISO functions as well as regional IT to develop and manage the shared service portfolio and the development and management of global common standards, policies, tools and practices.

The Role

The Shared Applications manager is a centrally dedicated role within GITSD, accountable for managing and developing a shared portfolio of on-

premise and cloud applications. The role will work alongside regional IT application teams to ensure effective and cost optimised, end to end demand management, operation and maintenance of the portfolio.

This will include ownership of strategies, roadmaps, service models and suppliers. The varied portfolio will entail a mix of portfolio and direct management including working alongside projects, service design and transition to introduce new services.

Responsibilities :

Act as the single point of ownership for the operational performance of the shared application portfolio own the service specific operating models leading direct and matrixed captive and outsourced resources and capabilities

Establish and manage the shared application performance mgmt regime e.g KPI’s, balanced scorecard and reporting, presenting regularly to IT leadership and service consumers

Identify and drive continual service improvement aligned to the wider global IT CSI programme

Work closely with CISO function to ensure and allow the transparent assurance of the optimised security profile for the shared applications services including support of security transformation

Work closely with CTO and other IT teams to develop the market for shared application services to maximise business benefit e.

g. reduce cost and risk and increase adoption and utilisation

Work with regional and global business engagement functions and or direct with business stakeholders to manage platform demand.

Work with projects and global ITSM to ensure effective transformation and transition delivery into BAU

Ensure effective maintenance and refresh plans including license management and renewals

Assure all in-scope service related change including validation of impact assessments and CAB approvals

Ensure services are delivered within agreed budgets and sharing principles applied

Responsible for all service incidents (including MI management), problems and risks within the respective ITSM and risk frameworks

End user satisfaction, awareness and training

Additional accountabilities :

Any other duties as deemed necessary to achieve department goal

Qualification and Experience :

Broad range of IT applications technology development and management experience

IT delivery and management achievements within a globally federated IT operation

Strategic planning and the abilty to translate into roadmaps and deliverables

Understanding of professional services / legal business systems (desirable)

ITSM and ITIL background (certification desirable)

Academic qualifications including Bachelors degree in relevant discipline (desireable)

Structured approach to decision making and influencing

Strong interpersonal and communicating skills
