Our Client, a well-established South African Manufacturer the Textiles industry is seeking to URGENTLY appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Workwear Buyer to be in the Supply Chain Department in their Durban, KZN Operations.
MINIMUM KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS :
Matric Certificate (Grade 12)
Tertiary Qualification in purchasing or related qualification
2-3 years Procurement experience in manufacturing environment
Workwear and PPE experience is ESSENTIAL
JDE experience is required
Computer Literate, preferably on and MRP system
ISO 9001 Knowledge
Coordination and Time Management
Ability to work independently
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Report into the Senior Buyer
Perform Purchase order processing on allocated commodities
Assist with price negotiations with suppliers
Carry out cost models and bench marking exercises
Liaise with suppliers regarding quality and delivery issues
Assist with sourcing of materials
Assist with Rationalisation projects
Assist with cost saving and reductions projects
Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good regular communications
Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships
Attend to any ad hoc duties assigned by Senior Buyer
Support the expeditors in maintaining stock quantities
