JOB PURPOSE :
CFO to provide financial strategy and strong financial execution. The ideal candidate will be able to make sound business decisions as they relate to the balance sheet and the profit & loss statements.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS :
Strategic Management and reporting
To ensure the Finance Strategy (design and execution) is aligned with critical business objectives.
Design, scope, implement and manage long and short-term Finance Department objectives.
Manage associated risk register with the internal audit team and committee.
Prepare reports for EXCO and Board.
Work with senior teams to grow the business, formulating strategies and plans.
Member of the risk, audit and compliance committee.
Budget and strategic planning
Ensure corporate budgeting processes are carried out and reviewed as per business need.
Liaison with key stake holders to ensure financial business strategy and plan is achieved.
Advise various departments as to where variances occur from the approved business plan and budgets.
Optimize the companys liquidity, making sound financial investments and hedge financial risks.
Manage company policy regarding capital requirements, debt, taxation, equity, disposal and acquisitions as appropriate.
Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with external parties.
Manage the companys sourcing of funding and the capital structure.
Ensure effective internal controls are in place and compliance with IFRS for SMEs and applicable regulatory legislation for financial reporting.
Provide leadership to finance department with regards to the accounting strategy, to optimize the companys financial performance and strategic position.
Ensure that company financial systems are robust, complaint and support current activities and future growth.
Human Resources and general management
Lead and develop financial teams.
Performance Management of direct reports and within finance department
Ensure effective internal controls are in place and complies with applicable regulatory legislation for tax reporting.
Ensure good corporate governance and tax integrity to ensure tax compliance in line with revenue authorities.
Systems, Compliance and general administration
Ensure all policies and procedures are current and applicable for the Finance Division.
Ensure all policies and procedures are always complied with.
Ensure all Finance systems utilized are adding value and is current and is managed effectively.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE :
BCom Accounting Honours Degree
Registered with South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA)
Minimum 5-10 years relevant experience in a senior management role
