Minimum requirements for the role : Must have a tertiary qualification in Microbiology or related fieldPrevious relevant work experience in Agriculture is essentialUnderstanding upscale from laboratory to production process would be idealMust be willing to do some trials outside in the fieldMust be bilingual with good communication and written skills, specifically in English and AfrikaansThe successful candidate will be responsible for : Monitoring and identifying microorganisms.
Tracking microorganisms in a range of environments.Monitoring and assessing samples from a range of sources.Following regular sampling schedules within a specific environment.
Using a variety of identification methods, including molecular techniques, to test samples.Developing new techniques, products and processes.
Developing and planning methods to prevent the spread of diseases.Planning, implementing and evaluating new products in clinical trials.
Managing and overseeing laboratory work.Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.Writing up research findings and producing reports.
