As part of our Financial Services Risk Management team,you'll work with multinational businesses to develop an integrated, holisticapproach to risk and control.

You'll help them benefit from their investmentsin internal controls and have greater confidence they can respond to whateverthe future may hold.

You'll be engaged in delivering some of the mostsignificant and class-leading internal audit and risk engagements globally.

Thescope of the work that you can expect to be involved in will include supportingour clients across a range of risk-related topics, such as Governance,Regulatory Compliance and Conduct Risk.

You can expect to be working on clientassignments across the industries we serve - banking, insurance, and wealth andasset management.

You'll actively establish internal and external relationshipsand identify and escalate potential business opportunities for Ernst &Young within existing engagements.

Thework we do isn’t about providing off-the shelf’ solutions; so we will trainand coach you to develop a set of core consulting skills that will betransferable across a broad range of projects.

You’ll work as part ofhigh-performing teams on a broad range of financial services clients andassignments that will stretch and challenge you.

Your client responsibilities :

  • Focus on the delivery of Advisory engagements, including helping our clients respond to new regulation
  • Assist with workshops and facilitation, both internal and external
  • Build strong internal relationships within Financial Services Africa and across other services
  • Help to deliver sustainable improvement by optimising our clients’ performance and profitability
  • Work on client assignments alongside your colleagues who will coach and support you.
  • Work in multidisciplinary teams bringing diverse perspectives to everychallenge

    Learn how to support complex client programmes and develop competencyspecific technical skills to support sophisticated client solutions.

    Your people responsibilities

  • Technical skills requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of work experience in a conduct-related risk / compliance management role within financial services, either in an industry line function and / or consulting capacity
  • An understanding of how conduct regulation affects people, processes and systems of a financial services organisation
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the insurance and / or banking sector
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Honours or Master's degree in Finance, Business or other related field
  • Demonstrated previous experience with / exposure to implementation of Treating Customers Fairly, Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services (FAIS) Act, Consumer Protection Act and related regulation, as applicable to banks, insurers and / or asset managers
  • Additional experience based in the Financial Markets Act and related regulation would be an advantage
  • In addition, an understanding of / previous exposure to conduct-related aspects of financial crime and client-tax requirements based in the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) Act, CRS regulations (Regulation 210), SARS Public Notices 508 and 509, etc.

  • Relevant degree with strong academic record
  • Legal academic background or demonstrated affinity would be an advantage
  • Previous experience of exposure to regulatory requirements across pan-African jurisdictions would be an advantage
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
