Upstream is looking for a Customer Business Executive South Africa who will report to Upstream’s GM - Africa and will work closely with our local partners, to drive the following objectives :
Create and implement a Business Development strategy targeting new clients in the region
Develop and execute sales strategies, ensuring effectiveness and profitability of the company
Credibly position Upstream’s value proposition at C-Level within MNOs
Maximize revenue and margin opportunities
Initiate marketing strategies and coordinate actions to influence the market
Collect data and provide market analyses of local market for Upstream
Ensure the organization and its mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented in strong, positive way to relevant stakeholders
Ensure that all business objectives are delivered as per the set-up business plans
Work within the assigned budgets
Build and maintain relationships with key decision makers at prospect and existing clients’ sides
Perform business competitiveness analysis for the competition (industry analysis, cost structure, distribution networks etc.)
Develop, maintain and strengthen the business relations of the most important potential targets in the area of his / her responsibility
The role is based in South Africa, however, candidates based in other / neighbour regions, having already established solid involvement / collaboration with local partners / clients, possessing also strong market knowledge and network, could also be considered as potential profiles and could be included in the assessment process.
Strong quantitative background and possession of University degree, probably with focus on Economics, Business and Administration, Marketing
Fluency in English (oral & written)
A strong and credible track record in the Telecom space in the region most particularly selling revenue generating software services to revenue centres of the Mobile Network Operator MNO, such as CMO, Head of Digital, Channels / Advertising, CVM, CCO, etc.
A strategic orientation and the ability to draw on his / her business experience to add to the vision and strategic direction of the organization
A strategic thinker who can set priorities, he / she should be customer oriented, and understand the motives and procedures of the MNOs
Excellent communication skills, energetic, dynamic and charismatic
The successful candidate will be independent, a self-starter, a business developer and natural networker with a strong analytical background
