Cape Town - Market Related incl Med Aid, Pension + Incentives, relocation allowance, staff discounts This is an exciting opportunity with one of South Africa’s best known and most successful national retail consumer credit chains.

In this role you will be tasked with providing technical payroll support to the Employee Benefits Department (EBD), processing payrolls and maintaining the system parameters, as well as providing HR admin support.

  • You will play an important role within the payroll and HR functions, and will specifically be tasked with the following : Tasks and responsibilities : System maintenance of the Oracle payroll and HR system;
  • Maintaining system parameters to ensure employees are paid timeously; Ensuring the input files are correctly imported and reconciled;
  • Running and / or supporting the running of the various payrolls and checking the output; Balancing the payroll and attending to all payroll outputs and discrepancy reports;
  • Checking the month end reconciliations and payments; Testing system upgrades and liaising with the technical people on payroll technical matters;
  • Balancing SARS accumulators monthly; Submissions and reconciliations of EMP201 and EMP501 and e-filing submission; Attending to Tax year-end and half year-end procedures;
  • Assist with GL interface and recons; Assist the Financial Accountant with all staff debt owing. Skills and requirements : Matric with at least 5 year’s working experience within a payroll systems environment, with payroll technical skills;
  • Accounting background preferred; Computer literate (MS Office Suite) with excellent Excel skills Knowledge of the Oracle E-Business Suite system a distinct advantage;
  • Must have a flair for numbers; Good understanding of PAYE, UIF, SDL and other statutory knowledge; Understanding of Sectorial Determination 9 advantageous;
  • Must be able to work in a highly pressurised and deadline-driven environment. Good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal);
  • Be able to use initiative and be pro-active; Good team player; Thorough, punctual and committed; Self-motivated, organised and systematic;
  • Highly adaptable, dependable, receptive and resilient.
