Our client based in Cape Town is looking for a Senior Financial Accountant - Temp to assist the Financial Manager and Asset Manager in the execution of the strategic processes and oversee standard accounting processes and internal reporting.

Education and Minimum Requirements

  • Matric
  • 3+ years Article or Auditing experience
  • 1+ years commercial experience
  • 2+ years Finance Management or Renewable Industry experience
  • CA (SA)
  • Intermediate knowledge in ERP systems
  • Excellent knowledge of IFRS
  • Intermediate Tax knowledge
  • Construction knowledge

  • Responsibilities

    Group and management reporting

  • Implement and maintain monthly reporting process to ensure timely reporting across 13 companies.
  • Assign, delegate and review responsibilities to make sure assigned tasks are clear and executed within timetables.
  • Report spending including management KPI’s to local management.
  • Assist the country manager in proposing and implementing cost saving strategies
  • Taxation function

  • Ensure proper processes are in place to ensure all taxes are paid in time.
  • Ensure timely and correct submissions of other ad hoc taxes.
  • Engage with both tax advisors and tax authorities to address complex tax issues.
  • Engage with management and legal advisors making sure all requirements of the companies act are met
  • External audits and or reviews

  • Prepare working papers to bring ledgers to a routinely auditable standard
  • Interact with external auditors at the time of conducting of audits
  • Management of financial statement audits and other agreed engagements
  • Prepare annual (and interim) financial statements
  • Routine (local) transactional processes

  • Organise, prepare and review bookkeeping transactions for IS upload
  • Assist with intercompany booking processes for local and group transactions / balances.
  • Review and release payments and ensure process complies with group policy.
  • Ad Hoc

  • Evaluate and reporting on business development tax strategies.
  • Implement ad-hoc group strategies and projects.
  • Manage foreign loan repayment schedules. Report and make foreign payments.
