Job Purpose To create a target operating model for a nationwide distribution capability in WMSA that delivers on :

  • Consistent advice processes and client experiences through Segment driven client value propositions (CVP).
  • Elevating the Wealth Management offering relative to competitors and applying scaled (digital) advice processes and support to the relevant segments.
  • Client acquisition where WMSA adds value through our holistic value proposition.
  • Increased client penetration within the wider Nedbank Group through collaboration, and increasing share of wallet and market share through active cross-selling in line with Nedgroup's strategic portfolio tilt and technology journey.
  • Client satisfaction through active service level management of the advice processes and collaboration with divisional operations to ensure post-onboarding services satisfaction.
  • Succession through an employee value proposition to retain and attract talent.
  • Job Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and drive execution of the divisional sales and advice strategy and meet financial goals.
  • Design and implement the relevant target operating model and communicate the divisional distribution goals.
  • Forecast, achieve, manage and analyse distribution and performance targets.
  • Represent WMSA on the relevant industry forums and surveys.
  • Keep abreast of competitor activities and conduct market research, benchmark industry best practices and apply CVP.
  • Enhance the credibility and value-add of the distribution capability within the Cluster and broader Nedgroup.
  • Provide sales leadership, intelligence and solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance revenue streams, profitability and reduce financial risk.
  • Provide insights on functional, sales and financial management reporting and produce relevant reports.
  • Support and align line managers / Executive stakeholders, with segment businesses through effective matrix management and execute relevant projects.
  • Drive and support the digital strategy aligned with Managed Evolution roadmaps and agree on success measures within the distribution function.
  • Design and execute an acquisition and cross-sell strategy for the division.
  • Monitor, build, maintain and influence relationships with internal and external stakeholders to meet client needs and expectations.
  • Ensure strategic engagements and be a trusted advisor to stakeholders.
  • Design and agree on the measurements of achieving good client outcomes within the distribution function.
  • Build a Business Leadership Persona across clusters and segments and be a Nedbank Brand Ambassador.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to identify effective marketing strategies within the Division to ensure client penetration and market share growth.
  • Monitor achievement of function goals, track daily performance and identify potential gaps / improvement opportunities considering stakeholder feedback.
  • Review, align and improve division sales policies, processes and procedures to all regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and embed world class risk practices.
  • Manage the recognition process and appropriate remuneration models for the business that achieves client centricity and headline earnings growth.
  • Deliver a world class distribution service through others by driving a client centric culture.
  • Drive the people strategy and create a high-performance culture aligned to Nedbank's vision and values.
  • Manage performance and ensure accountability through direct reports.
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection of senior staff.
  • Empower team to make decisions and recommend tailored solutions to business unit specific problems, through coaching and mentoring practices.
  • Monitor service levels, obtain stakeholder feedback and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Contribute in the development of recruitment criteria and training needs for all Sales roles.
  • Instil an agile and client centric culture through relevant competencies to deliver the divisional strategy.
  • Drive divisional Transformational Plans through consultation with Human Resources.
  • Develop and implement a strategy to build a differentiated culture of improvement and innovation by analysing relevant surverys and information.
  • Drive corporate citizenship and participate in corporate citizenship intiatives.
  • Identify areas of resource inefficiencies and seek / promote optimisation.
  • Support staff through employee wellbeing initiatives.
  • Embed a culture of functional flawless execution within the team.
  • Ensure change management is implemented for all initiatives within the distribution function.
  • People Specification Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
  • Professional Qualifications / Honour’s Degree
  • Preferrable Qualification

  • Matric / Grade / National Senior Certificate
  • BCom degree (pref. Honours) in Business or Commerce
  • FAIS qualification
  • Key Individual (non-negotiable)
  • Essential Certifications

  • Registered with the relevant professional bodies
  • FAIS representative and preferably a Key Individual
