The role can include designing system configurations, documenting and managing the installation of a new network, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems as necessary.
Operates company's internal data communications systems. Plans, designs and implements local and wide-area network solutions between multiple platforms and protocols (including IP and VOIP).
Supports / troubleshoots network issues and coordinates with vendors for installation of such items as routers and switches.
Works on project implementation. Provides training and assists with proposal writing. Conducts project planning, cost analysis and vendor comparisons.

Academic Qualifications, Certifications, and Required Work Experience : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience Minimum of five years’ network engineering experience in a large-scale global enterprise environment.
Experience managing global 24x7x365 environments. Cisco professional certifications are desired. ITSM and ITIL experience.

MPLS technologies including L2 VPNs, L3 VPNs, EVPN, Pseudo wires, High Availability, QinQ, etc. SD-WAN technologies with Cisco IWAN and SD-WAN, including migration strategies.
Cisco SD-WAN DCA and Cloud onRamp solutions. Cisco AVC and NBAR solutions. Quality of Service, Hardware QOS (queuing), WRED, WRR, FIFO, DSCP markings, COS marking, etc.
Cisco’s FirePOWER Threat Defense (FTD) firewalls and management tools with a strong understanding of Access Policy usage, IPS, NAT, etc.
Wireless LANs and centralized wireless controller management. Management and Monitoring Tools, such as Solarwinds, Cisco Prime, Live Action, and DNA Centre.
Network Administration products such as Cisco ISE. SSL / TLS Inspection systems. Familiarity with Linux operating systems and command line.
Network automation using tools such as Ansible or scripting languages such as Python.
