A software company based in London and Cape Town is looking for an ambitious and energetic individual to be their SYSTEM OPERATIONS ADMINISTRATOR .

As a System Operations administrator you are responsible for maintaining, supporting and providing training with our Support systems.

These systems include monitoring, logging, asset management, patching and automation.

This will require you to listen to feedback from other parts of the business and implement change internally to continually evolve the service.

You will be required to build strong relationships with all Operations personnel; liaise with Team managers over service issues within their teams and prioritise work across the teams as well as develop the systems within the Company

Core responsibilities :

  • Consolidating all current Remote monitoring and management programs (Kaseya, Labtech, N-central, SCOM) into one system (Currently Kaseya)
  • Developing automatization with current RMM Kaseya package and / or other tools
  • Maintaining, standardising and developing the monitoring tool which is currently PRTG.
  • Consolidating, developing and maintaining logging tools such as Elasticsearch, Greylog, in-house event management scripts
  • Consolidating monitoring tools
  • Reviewing competing software solutions as the company grows to make sure they have the most effective software solutions for the company
  • Developing CI management between their helpdesk package (Service-Now) and their monitoring and management tools
  • Maintaining and developing their document management solution (currently XIA)
  • Looking after their internal Intune and EMS deployments
  • PowerShell, and / or VBScript
  • Collating, tracking and communicating client feedback internally and implementing measures to track service quality independently of client feedback
  • Skills Required :

  • 6+ years of System Administration experience with Windows Server 2008, 2012, and 2016 operating systems.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of networking (LAN, WAN, Routing, Firewalls, VPN, etc.).
  • Familiarity with programming / scripting languages such as Powershell and VBScript
  • Knowledge of Active Directory including Group Policy creation and management.
  • Desirable :

  • Several years’ experience working with leading RMM tools and familiarity with their configuration and use
  • RMM tools such as Kaseya, Labtech, N-central
  • Monitoring tools such as PRTG, Naigos, SCOM
  • Logging tools such as Greylog, Elasticsearch
  • Configuration Management in an ITSM system such as ServiceNow
  • Knowledge of Active Directory including Group Policy creation and management.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Intune and EMS.
  • The successful candidate will be operating from the Cape Town office and will be working on UK hours (10am 7pm).
