Main purpose of the role : Media24is currently looking for a Sales Manager for City Press and Daily sun, to be based n Johannesburg.
This position will report to the GM of Commercial Sales. Manage the sales performance of City Press and Daily Sun publications in line with the divisional strategy and operating plan to expand market share and brand;
and achieve and exceed sales revenue targets. Implement and drive new revenue models, grow diversified revenue streams and create opportunities to grow digital income.
Key responsibilities : (The primary tasks, functions and deliverables of the role) Translate City Press and Daily Sun sales strategies into operational plans for the region to drive sales and meet and exceed sales targets Implement operational plans and priorities that align with the national sales strategy plan, canvas and develop new business opportunities and implement new sales concepts to maintain and expand market share Analyse and report on sales opportunities and achievements, and use data analyses to identify further opportunities Formulate and present required reports to management Develop new revenue opportunities Lead, motivate, drive, manage and develop a team of sales representatives to ensure achievement of pre-determined revenue targets for the region Actively join / accompany the sales representatives in selling the benefits of the products to clients Build strategic relationships with clients and other internal and external stakeholders through regular and ongoing communication Constantly evaluate and improve sales methods to ensure maximum efficiency Deliver sales presentations and proposals Achieve set sales revenue and new revenue targets Generating new revenues with Events, Digital, Social Media, TV, Livestream events Provide input into the annual budget that supports the sales strategy and sales operating plan Manage and attain revenue and expense budget objectives Develop and implement a marketing plan for the products Keep abreast of latest trends in sales effectiveness and adopt new approaches as required to expand client base and increase revenue Handle and execute all disciplinary actions in sales department Oversee and manage all administrative duties Skills and competencies : (The abilities that the individual needs to perform this role effectively) Excellent verbal communication skills Excellent written communication skills Relationship building Performance driven Energetic and innovative thinking Analytical thinking Driving sales teams performances Adaptability to fast changes Innovative giving ideas and enforcing execution Leadership skills Pressure handling, Resilience Attention to detail Strong interpersonal skills Required Preferred Qualification Min Grade 12;
A relevant sales or marketing qualification Experience 6 years proven management sales experience; Experience in relevant field (Media).
Advertising or media experience; Supervisory or management experience advantageous. Knowledge Proficiency in relevant software applications and packages.
