My client based in Santon has an urgent vacancy for a Dynamic, highly motivated, and service orientated Long-Term Insurance Underwriter.
Must have exp. in life products, more specifically critical illnesses, and Impairment. Experience in the Assessment of claims would be of benefit.
Must be fully fit and proper (Insurance Qualification and completed RE). Min 8-10 Years Underwriting experience. Minimum requirements Matric Fully fit and proper (FAIS Credits as per FAIS requirements, Completed RE) Some form of formal Qualification (if medical related it would be an advantage) 8-10 Years Underwriting experience (Long Term Insurance) Must have worked on multiple insurance products (ideally Critical illnesses and impairment) Clean record with FSB (Never been debarred with FSB) Candidate will be responsible for : Underwrite in accordance with standards, policies and procedures.
Attend to administration and written communication. Ensure that all documentation is processed accurately & correctly. Ensure documentation, including SASRIA is issued, checked and authorized prior to dispatch.
Ensure queries are resolved as per company standards. Ensure renewal reviews are completed timeously. Ensure retentions are calculated.
Ensure timeous and accurate management of mail count. Correct unprofitable policies. Ensure policies are not overexposed.
Ensure accurate capture of medical diagnoses by the Sales Consultants. Ensure suspicious non-referral cases are highlighted and referred into underwriting or further investigation.
Provide support to Sales Consultants with regards to medical terminology. Give input into medical underwriting rule changes.
Liaise with reinsurers on medical underwriting cases referred. Supporting the Underwriters in examining applications for insurance cover (salary protection, lump sum disability, life cover, critical illness, etc.
and disclosures made by customers. Collecting background or additional information and assessments of risk. Apply necessary guidelines to ensure correct risk rating is applied to potential new business, or to decline cover.
Assisting with the assessment of Claims where needed.
