    The G Band Release TrainEngineer (RTE) role is based within Technology.

    The roleof the ReleaseTrain Engineer (RTE) is to facilitate Agile Release Train processesand execution, respectively.Escalateimpediments, manage risk, help assure value delivery, and help drive continuousimprovement.

    Participate in the Lean-Agile transformation, coaching leaders,teams, and Scrum Masters in the new processes and mind-sets.

    Assist in adaptingSAFe to the organization, standardising and documenting practices. Manage theexecution and delivery of strategic programmes across OpCos.

    Participate in theshaping of the business operating models in each market.

    Your responsibilities willinclude :

    Prioritiseand plan program Increment as part of the Agile Release Train (ART) :

  • Definethe agile capability in each OpCo.
  • Assistin the creation of virtual, BU aligned squads.
  • Planand execute value delivery through multiple tribes and across customer journeys
  • Facilitateadaption, standardizing and documenting practices.
  • Guidethe team, including facilitating programme level processes and execution andgrowing the methodology at the program level (yet still allowing the team toself-organise).
  • Planand obtain resources and tools.
  • Organize,run and facilitate the Program Increment (PI) Planning.
  • Organize,run and facilitate Release Management forum.
  • SecureShared Services commitments and accountability for release plans.
  • Providerelease plans that offer realistic means of achieving commitments.
  • Establishprogram level cadence and drive program level ceremonies (e.g. PI Planning,Product Management Council, Scrum of Scrums, System Demo Inspect and AdaptWorkshop and retrospectives.
  • Managesand optimises the flow of value through the programme using various tools, suchas the programme and value stream Kanban’s.
  • Driverelentless improvement.
  • Assessthe continuum maturity level of the programme / value stream and help improve.
  • Fostercollaboration amongst and across ART :

  • Encouragecross-value stream coordination and collaboration.
  • Facilitateintergroup communication and dependency resolution, specifically helping tokeep information moving so that the teams can focus on delivery.
  • Facilitatealignment dependencies between the program team and third parties, releasemanagers, or between the team and other Scrum Teams.
  • Encouragesthe collaboration across Program and Team layer of SAF’e.
  • Coachingand Mentoring of the ART :

  • Provideleadership, direction and coaching to Feature team and Scrum Masters.
  • Develop,coach and mentor teams and scrum masters in lean / agile practices and mind-sets.
  • Activelycontribute to the banks nWOW Community through participation in the internalAgile Community of Practice and Scrum Master Forums.
  • Chairsthe scrum of scrums (SoS). As a leader and the scrum master of scrum masters,the RTE is perfectly positioned to ensure that teams interact and sharecross-
  • team issues and risks by facilitating the SoS.

    The ideal candidate for this rolewill have :

  • Matric is essential.
  • Relevant 3 yeardegree / diploma is essential.
  • In addition to the details listed above, the idealcandidate will have an in depth knowledge and understanding

    Knowledge Base :

  • Soundknowledge and experience in Agile methodologies and disciplines.
  • PCliterate and absolute understanding and application of project management toolsand techniques.
  • Skills Base :

  • Abilityto develop, lead and manage complex programmes.
  • Abilityto operate in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Perseverance,tenacious, tolerance for ambiguity and driving personality.
  • The baselocation for this role is Midrand, Corporate Park.
