A well-established Agriculture chemical company requires the above to manage the Research, Development and Regulatory Team of entire product portfolio, plan overall direction of the department and be responsible for the development of new products.
Minimum requirements for the role :
Tertiary qualification in BSc Agriculture or related is essential, Honours or Masters degree preferred.
Must have more than 10 years’ experience in Agriculture chemical regulatory, trials and product development.
Hands on experience within the agriculture industry is essential.
Must have in depth industry knowledge and strong networks.
Must be able to work autonomously and drive the department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for :
Managing products for Row crops : maize, soybeans, sunflower, dry beans, wheat, sugarcane, etc.
Analysing the current portfolio, dissecting the product range and identifying the relevant and vital products.
Deciding the direction and scope of new products that needs to be brought to the market.
Managing the trial team to ensure effective trials for registrations.
Compiling new or revised spraying programs per crop based on customer needs, GP, differentiation and including NPIs.
Keeping up to date with industry trends and international standards.
Providing key insights into product training material, including selling toolbox for new products.
Managing allocated budget for Research and Development.
Analysing range, proposing a growth target and related strategy within the prescribed timelines.
Managing new product launches.
Conducting portfolio gap analysis.
Ensuring that the Product Launch process is fully integrated into monthly Sales and Operations Planning cycle.
Ensuring collaboration between departments with customers and suppliers.
