Dis-Chem Pharmacies require a Head of Health to manage the health division within their Menlyn Branch - Pretoria. This entails stock control, working towards achieving sales targets, reporting, managing in-

store promotions, implementing head office initiatives, managing the health store team of salespeople and merchandisers.

Essential :

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Minimum of 3 years’ retail and sales experience
  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience in supervision / management of a staff complement of between 3 and 8 people
  • Computer literate MS Office
  • Willing and able to work retail hours
  • Advantageous :

  • Qualification within the health focus category
  • Relevant experience in the vitamins, supplements and health food industry
  • SAP experience
  • Qlikview experience
  • Job Description :

  • Direct and support sales staff under the guidance of the Store Manager and in accordance with the Dis-Chem policies, procedures and retail working practices
  • Ensure implementation of head office, Regional Manager and Regional Health Manager strategy and initiatives
  • Ensure staff receive relevant training, and manage and encourage feedback from training
  • Manage staff member performance through the performance management system
  • Ensure the Health Division is adequately staffed at all times, and establish an appropriate work roster
  • Manage all in-store promoters
  • Manage and address customer compliments and complaints
  • Escalate serious and unresolved customer complaints to Store Manager or Regional Health Manager
  • Serve customers and implement a high standard of customer care and service
  • Investigate and solve all customer queries effectively and timeously
  • Promote problem solving within the team to improve customer service
  • Maintain merchandising and displays, to ensure a high standard of cleanliness
  • Ensure all goods are correctly priced and labelled
  • Adhere to stock layout principles and planograms
  • Implement promotional displays and merchandising
  • Maximise store turnover and profit
  • Working towards achieving department, vendor, brand, products, sales and profit targets
  • Ensure monthly promotions are implemented effectively to maximise sales
  • Pull sales reports and update sales staff as per performance
  • Keep abreast with in-depth knowledge regarding products, brands and the industry
  • Maintain optimal stock levels through effective planning, monitoring and ordering of stock
  • Handle warehouse orders and follow up on out-of-stocks with the relevant departments on a daily basis
  • Manage sales representatives and direct supplier orders
  • Reduce and prevent damages
  • Ensure proper stock rotation to prevent stock from expiring
  • Manage back shopping designated area
  • Be accountable and manage stock control through effective planning and ordering of stock in collaboration with Dis-Chem’s warehouse and suppliers
