Job Description :
This Engineering company specialising in equipment for the mining and minerals processing, construction materials preparation and recycling industries is looking for someone with a technical degree with a proven track record in international sales in the mining industry, ideally with crushing and commination equipment sales.
Position details : Type : Permanent
Reports to : Manager Sales.
Primary purpose : Identifying the maximum number of high-probability prospects and developing a robust sales pipeline in international markets for all products.
Job description / core competencies :
Defining the needs and requirements for international markets / customers.
Developing solutions for crushing for identified projects.
Managing opportunities for equipment and process solutions from initial concept, through to the successful order and installation.
Preparation of tenders / offers.
Conduct and / or coordinate effective customer visits, communication and follow ups when required.
Handover of test results with alternative solutions (if need be) to customers.
Setting of budgets.
Developing international market strategies and sales plans.
Reaching targets (maintain active prospect list).
International client visits.
Submitting monthly activities report and quartly plan updates to department management.
Managing opportunities and updating progress on Master Project List weekly.
Keeping abreast of market trends.
Maintaining detailed knowledge of the company’s products and services. Research competitors, including marketing strategies and pricing philosophy.
Management of customer relationships.
Manage group subsidiary and agent’s coordination regarding markets, products and project pipeline including updating and use of prospect management tools, international visits.
Compile standard costing sheets, maximizing profitable margins, preparing and pricing schedules for international markets.
Control expenses to meet budget guidelines.
Effective hand-over of projects orders to Project Management.
Attending general monthly sales department meeting.
Attending technical / working group as required.
Planning and reporting :
Reporting on actual progress versus plan (both strategic plans and budget).
Provide timely feedback to Sales Manager regarding performance.
Maintain accurate records of all pricings, sales and activity reports.
Facilitating test work and liaising with Engineering Department on client requirements and test results.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes
Job Qualification & Experience :
Mature, self-managed relationship builder with good values as well as a solid and proven track record in driving results.
Degree / diploma in a relevant technical discipline (degree in extraction metallurgy beneficial).
Minimum 7 years’ sales / marketing experience.
Minimum requirements : Technical aptitude
Business and sales principals
Knowledge of the mining & minerals processing industry and international markets
Knowledge of project management (beneficial)
Own transport / valid driver’s license
