Fantastic opportunity exists within a leading company in the Textile & Clothing Industry based in Durban, for an experienced ( Min 5 years post articles experience) Chartered Accountant.

While industry specific experience will be an advantage, they will also consider CA’s with lower experience levels and strong manufacturing knowledge.

Reporting to the Managing Director the newly appointed CA will lead the Finance, and Admin teams. The successful candidate will lead a continuous improvement mind-

  • set and culture. This person will be responsible for the full financial function within the organization including financial reporting, preparation of management and statutory information and risk management;
  • and while being an extremely hands on position in terms of the day-to-day functioning of the organization, the individual will be expected to implement the principles of good corporate governance and participate and contribute to strategic decision-

    making. Provide effective financial control and leadership whilst working hands on as an integral part of the team. Ensure the existence of robust financial risk management strategies and policies to mitigate against risks.

    Implement continuous financial auditing and control systems to evaluate and monitor organizational performance. Report on operational activities, efficiencies and variances.

    Prepare and present monthly and annual Director packs and other related reports. Lead the tax function. Prepare annual budgets for approval by the Directors.

    Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting. Lead the B-BBEE compliance and improvement regime. Develop and continuously improve accounting systems including software and other financial communication systems.

    Initiate and engage in all manner of activities that will ensure financial health, growth and achievement of business goals.

    Manage various types of agreements (cooperative agreements, grants, contracts, memos of understanding, etc.) and solicit legal advice when needed to ensure compliance with applicable government rules and regulations.

    Manage the Finance / Admin department, supported by the Finance Manager. Attract, develop, and retain talented staff including fostering of a high-

    performance culture. Supervise Warehouse and Facilities Manager, in conjunction with the Managing Director for relevant tasks.

    Lead facilities, inventory, IT systems and other administrative functions, supported by Warehouse and Facilities Manager.

    Education : B.Com Accountancy and post graduate degree a necessity Completed Articles Qualified CA(SA) Experience : At least 5 years post articles experience Manufacturing / supply chain distribution industry experience.

    Knowledge of computerized systems (ERP Systems) Strong leadership skills Excellent analytical skills Trustworthy, resilient and committed Advantageous if the candidate is EE Market related and dependent on experience and exposure.

    Education : B.Com Accountancy and post graduate degree a necessity Completed Articles Qualified CA(SA) Experience : At least 5 years post articles experience Manufacturing / supply chain distribution industry experience.
