Theposition reports to the Advertising ManagerYour responsibilities will include : Drive performance within a sales team (5-9 people) to deliver against sales targetsEnsure sales processes are followed by the sales team and that sales data is accurate and completeIdentify shortfalls in the sales process and help improve efficiencyManage and build sales dashboards to track key productivity metricsDrive improvements in the quality of data and reporting offered to clientsDevelop strategies for acquiring new advertising customers, and retaining and upselling existing customersAssist in managing strategic brands and support client engagement for high value advertising customersManage and support a team of Sales Specialists with day-to-day operationsCoach the advertising sales team to improve their sales skills and performanceWork with the Advertising manager to set monthly targets for the sales team which are aligned to the business targetsEnsure a solid sales pipeline is in place for a rolling 3-month period and that there is plan for big clients in line with their 12 month budgetsAssist in the collaboration between the Sales Specialists, Marketing, Merchant and Finance teams.

  • Recruiting and onboarding of new Sales SpecialistsAssist the Advertising Manager in identifying new assets and introducing them into the sales process for the Advertising team to sellAttributes and Skills required : Attention to detailExcellent communication skills, both written and spokenExceptional negotiation and closing skillsCommercially astute with an inherent understanding of driver of business valueHas relentlessly high standards (is never satisfied with the status quo)Is able to dive deep and is never out of touch with the details of the businessMotivated and driven to succeedStrong results orientation and Thinks BigOrganized, ability to prioritizeSolutions-oriented, can-do attitude;
  • self-motivatedComfortable with learning and adapting to new systemsQualifications and Experience required : Bachelor of Commerce Degree (or equivalent diploma) is preferential but not requiredMinimum 5 years work experienceExperience managing a sales teamExperience in establishing and managing sales processesExperience with Salesforce or similar CRMeCommerce experience is preferred but not requiredThe Environment : takealot.
