Objective of the job

An exciting position for a Sales Manager at the truck store, the used commercial vehicle retail outlet, selling all vehicle brands.

The incumbent’s responsibility will be to lead and organize the Sales and Operations Division and to ensure that targets are achieved.

Main Tasks : People Management :

People Management :

  • Develop a culture which promotes excellence, professionalism, teamwork and accountability
  • Communicate effectively, lead, engage, motivate and inspire team to top performance
  • Manage performance and development of staff
  • Ensure that staff members have contextual information they need to perform and take decision in the best interest of the business and key stake holders
  • TruckStore KPI's :

  • Manage and control all TruckStore financial, sales and operational KPI's ensuring monthly and annual plans are met
  • Align with strategic objectives of other business units by working with all internal and external divisions and teams, building peer support and strong internal business relationships with key management personnel with a view of enhancing sales efforts
  • Achievement of sales targets, evaluating, and developing processes that drive sales.
  • Further improve the TruckStore network cooperation strategy to ensure close cooperation between Dealer Network & TruckStore
  • Effectively implement the TruckStore agency sales model across South Africa
  • Integrity :

  • Promote and support integrity including rewarding and disclosing compliance achievement or misconduct in an appropriate manner.
  • Implementation and promotion of efficient and effective internal compliance controls, including regular assessments and risk mitigating
  • measures to avoid non-compliance.
  • Set a good example for the team. Work according to company culture and values and deliver results effectively.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Attributes :

  • The suitable candidate will demonstrate an in-depth understanding of commercial vehicle sales operations and business practices
  • A good understanding of competitor analysis and trends
  • Knowledge of legislation applicable to the vehicle sales environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present strategy and results to staff members at every level of the organization
  • Ability to create and maintain positive relationships with current and prospective clients
  • Ability to create and implement strategic sales and marketing plans that successfully achieve business objective
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Goal driven - Have a strong desire to achieve targets
  • Have passion and enthusiasm at work
  • Experience :

  • 3-5 years’ experience in the commercial vehicle sales and marketing environment, including truck, trailer and bus sales
  • Basic commercial vehicle technical skills and advantage
  • Used vehicle sales experience an advantage
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets
  • Leading teams with proven leadership skills
  • 3+ years in people management
  • High level of Emotional Intelligence
