Manager : Enterprise Architecture Reporting Line : Head : Engineering, Planning and ExecutionDivision : TechnologyScale Code : Position ID : CLOSING DATE : 25 APRIL MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION : To manage, co-ordinate and lead the Enterprise Architecture department to ensure that the SABCs Enterprise Architecture Framework, strategy, technology and business processes are aligned to its business strategy by reducing complexity, establishing effective technology processes and ensuring technology is used consistently across the SABC in accordance with professional engineering standards, policies, procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF STRATEGY Ensuring SABC uses appropriate systems architecture to realize its business goals and strategiesDefine the SABC business systems architecture and support the SABC IT strategyOngoing review and adaption of departmental strategy in support of SABC business strategyDevelop short and medium term strategies based on broadcast technology trends and developmentsDevelopment and implementation of Enterprise Architecture Framework which will establish a common understanding, vocabulary and blueprint for all stakeholdersTo ensure that the Enterprise Architecture Framework is driven by its models to ensure unnecessary complexity is not introduced, the SABC remains agile and is able to execute its strategyTo understand, decide on the usage and evaluate the impact of new technologies on the SABCDown-cascading of SABC and business unit strategy and Enterprise Architecture Framework within Enterprise Architecture departmentBUSINESS OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCYEnsuring IT functions are technology centralized in order for departments across the SABC to collaborate and interface seamlesslySolving integration problems and synchronising technology frameworks and systems across the SABCs business unitsTo empower the SABC to achieve a competitive advantage through the effective use of IT systemsEstablish an Enterprise Architecture Framework that will reduce costs, increase flexibility, and regulate technology environmentsOn-time submission of accurate operational budgetEnsure cost-effective utilization of available resourcesContinual monitoring and control of operating budgetsSet appropriate performance & quality standards for the department and ongoing monitoring thereofEnsure updated asset register at all timesMonthly report to be an accurate reflection of status on deliverables and risksGOVERNANCE, RISK AND COMPLIANCEEnterprise Architecture Framework compliant with broadcast standards e.

g. ITU, SMPTE and information technology industry best practice e.g. TOGAF, ITIL, COBIT5, GartnerEnsure compliance with all relevant SABC and statuary policies and proceduresEnsure compliance with the SABC risk management frameworkEnsure proactive identification and communication of potential risks in accordance with the SABC risk management frameworkEnsure adherence to safety and health regulationsSTAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT AND CHANGE MANAGEMENTBuilding and maintaining positive relationships with all departmental, business unit, divisional and external stakeholders through frequent communication and feedback sessionsLiaise with the Program Management Office and Project Engineering departments as well as SABC business unit-, divisional- and external stake holders, to ensure that the enterprise architectures are valued and that programs and projects are created that realize the architectures in implementation initiatives.

LEADERSHIP AND PEOPLE MANAGEMENTDirect, manage and motivate architecture teams and resources in order to meet project requirements Identify and motivate training needs Set service delivery standards and lead the team to achieve them Endure functional systems, processes & practices are in place for the department and are contributing towards effective and efficient delivery Performance management of staff as per SABC performance management policy Ensure adequate staffing for workload, succession planning and effective leadership Set appropriate performance & quality standards for the department and ongoing monitoring thereof INHERENT / MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS : QUALIFICATIONS Relevant Bachelors degree in Information Technology (NQF level 7) Enterprise Architecture methodologies certification (TOGAF, SOA) IT Service Management methodologies certification (ITIL, COBIT) EXPERIENCEMinimum 7 years architect experience of which 3 years are on management level in an ideally in an Enterprise capacity Track record in IT disciplines including data management, integration and large scale solution architectures.

Experience in defining conceptual, logical and physical architectures Proven client engagement and consulting experience Experience with the complete information system life cycle.

Architecture / Solution design delivery in large organizations Experience in defining conceptual, logical and physical architectures Interpreting organizational strategy and requirements and developing enterprise architecture to suit KNOWLEDGE Ability to deal with all levels of business and technology stakeholders across large organizations Knowledge and Understanding of Project Management methodologies will be an advantage.

Knowledge and Understanding of Radio and TV broadcast environment will be an advantage.
