Education and Minimum Requirements

  • Accounting Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in financial accounting or similar role
  • Willing to travel internationally UAE and Europe
  • Company secretarial experience advantageous
  • Financial Accounting experience related to the Middle East advantageous
  • SAP experience advantageous
  • Responsibilities

  • Responsible for detailed review of and for providing all financial information and disclosures to consultants for drafting of annual financial statements
  • Keeping up to date with all relevant technical updates concerning all tax types and International Financial Reporting Standards
  • Analysis of budget prepared by HQ, liaising with management to identify variances and reporting these variances to HQ
  • Analysis and monthly reporting to management (per functional area) of actuals vs budget, explaining significant variances
  • Providing all relevant journal entry postings / adjustments to Shared Service Centre
  • Management of month-end closing, as per communicated deadlines by HQ
  • Ensuring that subsidiaries are aligned with all HQ Group reporting and taxation requirements
  • Monthly reporting of cash flow movements, explaining significant movements
  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost reduction opportunities
  • Management of annual review and audits, providing all relevant support in this regard
  • Administration of dunning letters and communication with Accounts Receivable (SSC) when required
  • Review / Preparation of VAT201s, Provisional Tax and Income Tax calculations and associated returns via SARS E-filing
  • Liaising with SARS for audits of all tax types
  • Act as interface between the relevant subsidiary, HQ and local consultant
  • Advise management on all finance and tax related issues
  • Management of payment run / accounts payable (local and cross-border), including the review of the allocation of payments to various general ledger accounts and cost centers (this also includes uploading and authorizing of payment outside of shared service functions)
  • Responsible for vendor applications and creditor master data changes communication
  • Responsible for maintaining relationship with key bank stakeholders, also ensuring that all relevant South African Reserve Bank applications are renewed timeously and drafting of new applications should the need arise
  • Administration of HSBCnet key users for COMPANY Middle East
  • Preparation / Administration of all local and cross-border inter-company / transfer pricing contracts (with HQ) and local inter-company invoicing
  • Administration of local insurance and lease contracts, together with HQ and MD
  • Ensuring of proper internal controls and compliance within the accounting environment
  • Responsible for updating with risk management tool, together with MD
  • Maintenance of fixed asset register, assessment of impairments and useful lives
  • Administration of company secretarial work (including CIPC submission requirements)
  • Assist other staff on any finance topics that come up on a day to day basis
  • Managing the entire Finance Function (A-Z), including any other finance related tasks requested by the MD
