  • The Security Manager will be responsible for managing guard service functions and security-related operations of the campus and journey management assigned by the Client with a 5 years'
  • plus experience in security site management based in Sandton. This is an 18 month contract with a view to extension thereafter for a globally established technologies company.

    Major Compulsory ResponsibilitiesRepresent company’s core values of integrity, vigilance and excellence.Ensure a safe working environment, supporting the organization security and safety standards.

    Provide operational support in the evaluation, development, and implementation of campus security strategies.Implement site security plans, security assessments, site specific risk / threat analysis and training awareness programs for employees.

    Liaise with government, and private sector agencies to enhance security operations.Gathering and provide support in response to intelligence for the protection against high security threats, emergencies, and contingencies.

    Provide multi-level communication between the business units in regards to security issues and matters.Provide management to CCTV control roomDevelop security policies, guidelines, and processes as directed by management.

    Respond immediately to all security incidents and emergencies.Provide monthly security report focusing on the crime trends, statistics and notable incidents.

    Provide operational support to SA Regional Security Manager regarding;Contingency planning, risk / threat assessments.Incidents and emergencies and act as the Security representative in the initial stages of emergencies / incidents.

    All other reasonable duties, as assigned. Supporting Security Vendors Functions : Oversee and support all security related vendors.

    Provide on-site support and manage daily security operations involving individual employees, guard force and contractors.

    Provide and ensure operational support and implementation in controlling the quality, productivity, training and services delivery by security vendors.

    Ensure Campus Static Security is operating efficiently daily ensuring proper access control, patrolling, and static guarding.

    Ensure Patrol / Escorts Security to be functioning adequately ensuring safety of employees en-route though and fro from work.

    Conduct periodic review sessions with security vendors to achieve quality service delivery provision by suppliers and vendors.

    Other Competencies / Attributes : Security site management experience (Having past experience working in a Chinese environment would be a bonus).

    Lingual skills; EnglishUnderstanding of local employment legislation related to security staff and their potential moves between providers.

    Strong project management skills.Intelligence interpretation, security / risk threats and investigation management experience.

    Possesses, or has the ability to develop, a network of key stakeholders within the company.Knowledge of current security technology.

    Effective problem-solving skills and sound decision-making ability.Excellent written and verbal communications skills.Customer focused and detail orientated.

  • Assertive and self-motivated and able to work efficiently under multiple deadlines and competing priorities.Computer skills;
  • Microsoft Office and internet. Required Education / Qualifications : Bachelor's degree or equivalent with five years eight years security site management experience.

    Working Conditions : Requires the physical and mental capacity to perform effectively all essential functions. In addition to other demands, the demands of the job include : Must undergo and meet company standards which may include background and reference checks, controlled substance testing, and behavioral selection survey.

    Maintain composure in dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff, and the public occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.

    Exposure to sensitive and confidential information.Regular computer usage.Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.Must be able to see, hear, speak, and write clearly in order to communicate with employees and / or customers.

    Manual dexterity required for occasional reaching and lifting of small objects and operating office equipment.Regularly requires intermittent sitting, standing, walking, running, climbing, squatting, and / or kneeling.

    Requires constant use of hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
