Duties

Safeguarding the companys short and long term financial health and profit objectives in close co-operation with and support of the Business Owner through :

Finance and Administration :

  • Ensuring the accurate, timeous financial and administrative recording and reporting of the companys past, present and future activities and objectives.
  • Ensuring that the company meets its legal and statutory obligations.
  • Ensuring the company meets its internal and external financial obligations.
  • Controlling and Risk Management :

  • Ensuring that there are proper controls in place to monitor, measure, insure and minimise the risk posed by the companys internal and external activities and environment in which it operates.
  • Includes the responsibility for Occupational Health and Safety.

    HR and Organisation :

  • Ensuring that the organisation and its people work effectively and in accordance with company policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensuring that the company provides a safe, stimulating and conducive work environment for its employees.
  • External Business Environment :

    Ensuring that the company builds and maintains proper and conducive relationships with all third parties it engages with.

    IT :

    Ensuring that the companys IT and Communications network is operational at all times in conjunction with the service provider.

    Supply Chain Management

    Ensuring and exercising the control over the optimal flow of goods and services including procurement and logistics.

    Advice and Counsel

    The Senior Bookkeeper provides the management team -of which (s)he is a member- with reports and counsel when required on all matters financial, procurement, admin, IT and HR.

    Assistance

    The Senior Bookkeeper provides the Business Owner with assistance on a range of matters within the ambit of the seniority of the position.

    Job Requirements :

  • Suitable qualification, ideally a tertiary education in accounting
  • SAIPA, SAICA Articles completed
  • A minimum of 5 years work experience in a similar industry and career environment with comparable responsibilities.
  • Advanced Pastel user*
  • Advanced Excel user*
  • Advanced writing skills in English and Afrikaans*
  • Advanced soft skills with leadership qualities*
  • Salary : between R20 000 - R40 000 per month depending on qualifications and experience.
