Job Description : Our client, within the manufacturing industry seeks to appoint and experienced and suitably qualified Quality Engineer to join their team based in Durban.
Job Duties Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs. Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfer to Production of new products are in accordance with approved data.
Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns. Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.
Create and maintain manufacturing quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc. Manage and follow an audit program.
Responsible for identifying and defining all company processes together with process owners. Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions, and preventive actions.
Analyse failure, corrective, and preventive action to respond to customer complaints. Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods.
Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends. Initiate, review and implement Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and deviations.
Define product yield monitoring and improvement process. Additionally define, monitor, and report product and process yield targets.
Drive failure analysis activities to closure. Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
Ensure Quality Management System is maintained. Develop Training to build Quality Awareness. Ensure Timeously closure of Supplier Defects and Corrective and preventative actions.
Conduct Management Reviews as defined Manage and close out all external audit Non-conformances. Validate those corrective actions are implemented.
Manage and close out all external audit Non-conformances. Maintain company environmental managements system consistent with the requirements of relevant ISO standard.
Maintain a convenient retrieval storage system. Ensure up to date change documentation is available. Liaise with standards authority regarding quality requirements.
Liaise with all levels of people regarding quality system requirements.
