Our client, a well-established logistics company, is seeking to employ experienced Transport Control Administrators in their Operations Department in Sandton, Johannesburg area.

Purpose of the role : ul li To mitigate company risk by executing route assignments through daily dispatching and debriefing of drivers and vehicles.

li li Coordinate the dispatch process per route and physically debrief of each route in order to support increased customer service and improve efficiencies in the business.

li li Responsible for tracking the dispatching and debriefing the drivers for a specific depot. / li li Management and control of capital and operations costs and all immovable and moveable assets within the scope of responsibility.

li / ul Key Responsibilities : Vehicle Dispatch : ul li Administer and monitor the uploaded system route allocations on a daily basis.

li li Ensure that the vehicles are dispatched according to the agreed business. / li li Responsible for issuing all relevant documentation to the driver including equipment vehicle keys, fuel cards, thermometers, and navigational tools.

li li Check company resources and staff meet company standards as per the Daily Vehicle Checklist form. / li li Ensure the tracking trip sheet is correct as per the physical situation in terms of driver, vehicle and other resources before the vehicle leaves the depot.

li li Update or correct trip information on the Tracking system before vehicle leaves the depot. / li / ul Driver Debriefing : ul li Monitor real time fuel consumption, speeding, braking and other driving and vehicle performance exceptions prior to vehicle returning to the depot.

li li Note exceptions of route in prereturn on the Tracking system e.g. Door openings outside Decos. / li li Liaise with Tracking on road Execution Agents.

li li Retrieve the printed Debrief document and correct daily vehicle checklist prior to the drivers’ return. / li li Debrief the drivers as they return.

li li Discuss, resolve and record any exceptions. / li li Walk the vehicles to confirm no damage or issues as per the Daily Vehicle checklist.

li li Get the driver to sign the Trip sheet, Debrief document and Daily vehicle checklist. / li li Collect vehicle keys, fuel cards, thermometers and navigational tools in line the agreed business process.

li li Compliance focused. / li li Attention to detail. / li li Deadline driven. / li / ul Qualification and Experience : ul li Matric.

li li Valid Code EB Driver’s license. / li li Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience working in an administration / transport environment, preferably within a FMCG environment.

li li SAP experience would be an advantage. / li / ul Problem Solving / Innovation : As a Transport Control Administrator, the job holder is expected to : ul li Make scheduling and analytical decisions that fall within the ambit of responsibility.

li li Solve most driver and vehicle performance-based problems within the ambit of responsibility. / li li Identify and implement limited innovations, particularly those that will improve vehicle and driver performance.
