Sector Marketing Purpose Join us in creating an eCommerce team that will reinvent online shopping across Africa. The Shoprite Group is Africas largest retailer with over 35 million customers and 2,500 outlets.

We are digitally transforming the business, and in doing so, are looking for highly talented people to join our eCommerce team and shape the face of online shopping in Africa.

The eCommerce Sales and Merchandising Manager is responsible for running the retail function of all eCommerce offerings across brands, including sales, the selection of the online product range and the merchandising and promotion of this range.

Qualifications Essential : Bachelor degree in business, engineering or marketing Experience Essential : Management position within the retail function of an eCommerce retail business (5+ years)Desirable : Experience working with UX and Product Management teams (1-

3 years) Knowledge Essential : eCommerce retail business knowledge Online sales knowledge Skills Essential : Excellent oral and written communication Analytical thinking Problem solving Job objectives Responsible for maximising online sales by (1) selecting the right product ranges, (2) working closely with the merchandising team to effectively merchandise these ranges, and (3) creating a seamless and highly personalised online shopping experience Responsible for setting sales KPIs for agreement by management and delivering and reporting sales against these KPIs Responsible for liaising closely with product catalogue teams to ensure the integrity of the product catalogue is maintained at all times Responsible for working closely with BI and Development teams to deliver a highly personalised customer experience Responsible for working closely with Shoprite buying groups in selecting and promoting the online range Responsible for building an excellent sales team, depending on the size of the business at the time of employment Responsible for continually contributing towards a culture of excellence and ambition Responsible for maintaining an attitude of accountability, integrity and excellence Competencies Essential : Analysing Entrepreneurial and commercial thinking Leading and supervising Deciding and initiating action Relating and networking Persuading and influencing Delivering results and meeting customer expectations Feedback Policy Shoprite endeavours to provide feedback to all candidates whenever possible.
