Job description :
A Data Analyst focuses on analysing information generated by the business, generating reports for different departments, forecasting future trends and providing feedback on how to improve the business and / or save costs.
He / She will also have to perform the following duties :
Develop integrated reports, methodologies, and files for analysing and presenting data.
Collects and summarises data in preparation for statistical and analytical reports i.e. KPI reports, Daily and Weekly reports etc.
Interprets, evaluates, and connect data, and develops integrated business analyses and projections for reporting purposes.
Produce high quality reports and ensure accurate data.
Identify areas to increase efficiency and automation of processes.
Investigate ad hoc queries; assist in data interpretation and present results.
Identifying exceptions and errors and investigate and report on the causes for the occurrence.
Research and analyse data from the SA Metal processes to identify opportunities to improve operations visibility.
To undertake duties as directed and requested by the Business Intelligence Manager to support the delivery and implementation of projects.
Prepare written responses to routine enquiries.
Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organisation standards.
Qualifying Experience :
BCom Degree / Finance : Undergraduate or graduate coursework in statistics, data analysis, computer science or research methods or related
3 years’ experience in data analysis, including demonstrated proficiency with analytical software
Minimum Level 3 in MS Office - Excel (Expert) and proficient in the following :
Excel - Power Queries
VBA custom macros and automation
ODBC Drivers for connecting too SQL Servers
Writing VBA SQL String
SQL Intermediate to advanced skills
Power BI Analytics Knowledge
