    The G Band Scrum Master role is based within Technology.

    The role of the Scrum Master is to takeaccountability to lead, organise, plan and control multiple projects, in a mannerthat will ensure the successful completion of specific, large and high-

    riskprojects. Has the accountability to ensure that project goals and objectivesare achieved within the overall scope and that project deliverables are withinthe agreed time frame, cost and as per defined and expected quality.

    Has theresponsibility to ensure agile delivery frameworks are being adhered to andcoach teams to best agile practices.

    Yourresponsibilities will include :

    1. Initiation and Planning

  • Ensure that all pre-requisites are met before projectinitiation (i.e. budget, priority, fully approved quality user stories, IScapacity etc.)
  • Coordinate and conduct activities with the scrum team.
  • Identify project teams, leads, responsibilities,deliverables, dependencies and timelines
  • Monitoring and Control
  • Track and ensure that project milestones anddeliverables are met
  • Manage project issues and risks
  • 2. Manage scope and change control

  • Manage resource capacity
  • Manage project dependencies and critical paths
  • Pre-empt slippages and issues and action mitigationplans to avert these
  • Facilitate the decision making process withstakeholders and document accordingly
  • Offer specialist input / knowledge
  • Facilitating the communication across differentdelivery teams to resolve dependencies and impediments.
  • Manage communication, monitoring, reporting andcontrol activities throughout the project lifecycle to all levels ofstakeholders
  • Produce and maintain the documents and status reportsto support the above activities (including but not limited to : Sprint reports,Sprint retrospectives, Daily stand-
  • up minutes, Sprint plans etc.)

    3. Governance

  • Participate in internal forums to contribute to theoverall Scrum and Safe methodology and standards
  • Ensure that knowledge acquired in the project isshared within the larger organisation.
  • Conduct training with own team where necessary
  • 4. Closure

  • Report on the quality of project output on completionof the project
  • Conduct the activities and gather the informationrequired to draw up the Close Out document and Post implementation / investmentreview
  • Share lessons learnt and recommendations with thelarger organisation
  • Driving improvements that are generated by agileretrospectives.
  • 5. People Management

  • Effectively communicate direction, plans, timelines,expectations, goals, strategies and visions
  • Organises interactions between the members of thePractice to nurture best practice and encourage knowledge- & tool-sharing
  • Act as supporting leader, rather than line manager,aiming at maturing the organisation readiness, vs. controlling the work
  • Provides guidance and harmonization of best-practiceson agile methodologies and practices to ensure smooth communication andcollaboration
  • Acts as a mentor for the Specialist resources in theirPractice, helping them grow in expertise and experience new areas
  • The idealcandidate for this role will have :

  • Bachelor’sdegree in Computer Science, Information Systems, orother related field
  • A totalof at least five to eight years relevant experience of which at least threeyears needs to be as a Scrum Master or Product Owner with agile teams
  • Experiencein designing and delivering complex digital capabilities
  • Experienceleading teams using agile methodologies in large-scale teams
  • CertifiedAgile coach, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM),SAFeCertified Scrum Master or similar
  • Experienceworking with agile methodologies, such as Scrum, Kanban, XP, TDD, and BDD
  • Certificationsin traditional Project Management practices, e.g., Prince 2, PMP preferred
  • JIRA / Confluence,MS Project, or equivalent experience preferred
  • In addition to the details listed above, the idealcandidate will have an in depth knowledge and understanding

  • Knowledgeof other Agile Methodologies
  • Excellentunderstanding of Agile methodologies and best practice, including experience asan Agile Coach and Scrum Master in a number of software development teams andindustries
  • Knowledgeand experience in the use of enterprise Agile frameworks
  • Knowledgeof the Telecommunications Industry
  • The base location for this role is Midrand, Commercial Park.
