General

  • Drive the implementation of strategic initiatives
  • Manage the distribution and allocation of resources
  • Ensure sound communication between stakeholders

  • Manage Research and Development activities under the auspices of the group

  • Assist Board with the development of policies and Ensure the implementation of all approved policies
  • Monitor compliance with approved policies and Evaluate the effectiveness of policies
  • Financial Management

  • Manage the financial systems
  • Ensure the implementation of transparent accounting practices
  • Compile the annual Budget
  • Monitor Budget spending and submit monthly reports
  • Ensure compliance with generally accepted Corporate Governance principles
  • Deliver Audited financial statements by 30 / 09 for the financial year ended 31 / 08
  • Implement and maintain effective financial controls
  • Marketing, Public Relations & Brand Management

  • Design and present for approval to the Board the marketing plan
  • Drive the public image through advertising, contact meetings and general promotional activities
  • Design innovative ways of growing and extending the brand
  • Drive relationship building exercises with the media, sponsors, government and all relevant stakeholders
  • Drive and promote the Social Responsibility Initiatives
  • Strategic Planning

  • Manage the strategic planning process
  • Ensure the participation of all relevant stakeholders in the strategic planning process.
  • Design and present for approval to the Board a three-year strategic plan
  • Review the strategic plan bi-annually
  • Ensure the implementation of the approved strategic plan
  • Drive the projects as identified and approved in the strategic plan
  • Ensure the allocation of the required financial resources for implementation
  • Sponsorships and Contracts

  • Management of all sponsorships
  • Negotiation of new sponsorship contracts
  • Ensure compliance with the agreed contract principles
  • Compile rights packages for sponsors based on the accepted sponsorship structure
  • Design and present for approval of the Board recommendations with regard to the sponsorships structure for the event
  • Negotiate contracts
  • Relationship Management

  • Maintain contact and liaise with key individuals in the sponsorship arena
  • Liaise with Local, Provincial and National Government structures
  • Liaise with the broadcast agent, the SABC
  • Liaise with Sports Governing structures
  • Liaise with official Charity Organisations
  • Liaise with key journalists from the print and electronic media
  • Human Resource Management

  • General HR Management of staff
  • Compile and Maintain the Office Policy Manual
  • Write Job descriptions for all staff members
  • Ensure the implementation of a comprehensive job evaluation process
  • Design and implement a Performance Development and Appraisal System
  • Implementation of Annual General Meeting

  • Manage compliance and implementation of the annual general meeting
  • Ensure notice and agenda are compiled and circulated in terms of the requirements
  • Ensure minutes are properly recorded and circulated
  • Ensure the implementation of any resolution taken at the annual general meeting
  • Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification MBA, MBL or similar degree
  • Must Have 5 years’ experience at a Senior Management level.
  • Experience in Liaise with the Sports Governing structures, broadcast agents & official Charity Organisations is essential
  • Strong relationship building experience
  • Experience with stakeholders and dealing with Boards
  • Excellent MS Office skills (including MS Word, Excel, MS Project, Visio)
