To make sure that a company is conducting its business in full compliance with all national and international laws and regulations that pertain to business industry, as well as professional standards, accepted business practices, and internal standards.


  • Provide direct support to the compliance program in the area, reporting to the Region Compliance Officer (RCO).
  • Support the RCO in working with the Country General Counsels (or other managers to whom compliance responsibilities in the country have been assigned) to implement the 5 elements of the compliance program in each country in the region : risk assessment, controls, training & communications, follow-up and organization / governance.
  • Provide advice on compliance implementation and / or matters requiring expert input on compliance to the Country General Counsels and compliance responsible.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of compliance program implementation in each country and support the RCO in conducting scheduled compliance reviews, reviewing risks assessments, annual training and communications plans, and effectiveness of control implementation.
  • Assist the Region General Counsel / RCO with the supervision, assignment and monitoring of investigations in the region.
  • On occasion as assigned by the EIRC in consultation with the Region General Counsel / RCO and Group Investigations plan and conduct investigations.
  • Provide feedback and advice to the RCO on the structure & strategy, performance and maturity of the compliance program for input into the Compliance Functional Council.
  • When determined and agreed by the countries in the region, provide compliance program services to countries such as training, assistance with risk assessment & calibration of the same, and so forth, where there is an economy of scale to be achieved or expert resources required are scarce.
  • Manage specific tasks as assigned by the RCO.
  • Education / Qualifications

    Bachelor of Commerce (legal)


    7+ years experience in governance, risk, and compliance / Internal audit

    Regional role experience

    3 to 4 Manufacturing experience

    Affiliation with relevant institution is advantageous

    Knowledge & Skills

  • Sound understanding of legal compliance and its practical implementation;
  • Management experience;
  • A sound ability to work through others, influence and persuade;
  • Sound communications skills; and,

    An analytical and consultative approach to problem solving

    Language Requirements

    English speaking is a must, French is a plus
