Golder has a dynamic and growing business in Africa and is seeking an experienced and energetic Environmental Consultant to join our Planning and Advisory Team.

The successful candidate will be an experienced consultant with a proven consulting track record. They will be available and medically fit to travel to project sites, work in a team environment and apply a high degree of problem-solving in the execution of duties.

This full-time position will be based in Golder’s Midrand Office although other office bases can be considered. Key duties and responsibilities will include : The appointed candidate will have a passion for Climate Change, Sustainability and ESG and will be expected to work on projects delivering these services across a range of sectors including oil and gas, mining, renewable energy, and transport and infrastructure.

QualificationsSkills, Qualifications, and Experience Preferred minimum qualifications and skillsets include : BSc or MSc Environmental Management or similar, with a career developed in general environmental permitting and a supporting specialist skill set.

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in the environmental consulting field with a focus on climate change, sustainability and ESG service delivery At least 3 years’ experience in project management Professionally registered with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) Demonstrable and progressive experience in environmental consulting and project management, including managing budgets, schedules and able to produce quality deliverables Experience working with project developers, lenders and an understanding of project financing processes and Environmental, Social and Governance elements Experience in at least one or more of the following sectors - mining, oil and gas, industry, energy, and transport infrastructure Applied understanding of, and proven experience in international and lender standards Proficiency in the use of MS Office suite of software, including MS Project or similar Well-developed communication skills, including the ability to write well, and Multilingual skills will be an advantage, especially French Own Vehicle Valid Driver’s Licence Must be medically fit and able to work in remote locations from time to time Your benefits at Golder will include : Competitive benefits and remuneration package;
