ASSOCIATE PASTOR Working Job Description (Youth Director / Young Adults Director)
1. RESPONSIBILITIES AS TO YOUTH DIRECTOR
A. The job requires a minimum of 15 hours per week as follows :
1) 3 hours on Sunday morning
2) 1.5 hours on Sunday night
3) 2 hours on Wednesday night or other Youth Night
4) 7.5 hours will be discretionary hours for planning, visiting or other responsibilities as needed by the Youth Director, Pastor or Personnel Committee
B. Set up a Youth Council of 4-6 parents, Sunday School teachers or youth. Work and plan through your Youth Council. Have a monthly meeting with Youth Council.
C. Organize an active outreach to youth in the community. Use youth, parents and others to reach inactive youth or prospective youth in the area.
D. Keep pastor, parents, youth and church informed of all youth activities.
E. Meet with pastor once a month for staff meeting to review activities and discuss upcoming events.
F. The pastor is directly responsible for all staff with the Personnel Committee giving administration as needed.
G. Provide the church secretary with all information of upcoming events for posting on the church calendar and for mail-outs and bulletin information.
H. Counsel with youth when needed with another adult present or refer to counselors.
I. All persons working with youth have to pass a background check as required by our insurance company.
J. Give a quarterly report of all past activities and plans to the Church Council and be an active member of the Church Council.
2. RESPONSIBILITIES AS TO YOUNG ADULT WORK
A. Organize small group Bible studies or discipleship groups for single adults.
B. Organize small group Bible studies or discipleship groups for young-medium couples. (Have pastor preview all studies)
C. Plan a mission trip / marriage seminar / single adult conference once a year for these age groups.
D. Plan on working with these age groups from 3 to 5 hours per week.
3. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES RELATING TO SENIOR PASTOR AND WORSHIP
A. Be available to help senior pastor in the worship service with such activities as prayer, scripture reading and announcements.
B. Be available to preach quarterly or as needed by senior pastor.
C. Be active in worship service at all times
Salary $15,000 Yearly $1,250.00 Monthly
Medical $5,000 Yearly $416.67 Monthly
Convention / Conference $200.00 Yearly (more as needed)
