An exciting opportunity has become available for a Treasury Manager to join our Finance Department in Cape Town.

The Treasury Manager reports directly to the Group Treasury Manager.

The main purpose of this role is to support the company's Treasury team with cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, day to day cash management activities, weekly and monthly reporting as well as other treasury specific ad hoc tasks.

The key aim for this person is to support the business cash requirements to ensure money is in the right place at the right time to achieve the business' cash goals.

Internal Liaison takes place with the accounts and treasury team and business stakeholders. External liaison takes place with third pay-out and pay in partners and auditors.

Duties and Responsibilities (Include but is not limited to) :

  • Oversee the treasury funding team
  • Ensure pay-out partners do not run out of funds
  • Approve all remittance funding payments
  • Preparation and review of the 3 month rolling cash flow forecast. Update the forecast with actual data and report variances and compliance with bank covenants as set out wrt the firm's bank facilities.
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly liquidity management and ensuring cash controls are in place and maintained
  • Analysis of business cashflow forecasts
  • Management reporting on liquidity and cashflow position
  • Management of the firm's banking relationships including :
  • Opening and closing bank accounts
  • Updating signature mandates
  • Updating and maintaining bank facilities
  • Maintaining the service level agreement between Company and the banks
  • Review the analysis of bank charges and interest rates applied to the bank accounts
  • Act as a point of contact in respect of managing account limits and release of large payments.
  • Responsibility for all banking matters managing loan facilities and bank compliance, guarantees, investments and facilitating, maintenance and renewal thereof
  • Assist in the documentation and improvement of treasury procedures.
  • Represent Treasury on cross functional teams, including initiatives with Projects, Bus Dev and other Treasury teams to add value and drive financial performance
  • Involvement in projects such as procuring and rolling out new systems and ensuring the impact of new banking regulations.
  • To provide Treasury support on projects and operations across the Group where Treasury representation is required.
  • Assist finance team with setting and management of payment allocation
  • Liaise with the functional Treasury areas on all aspects of legal entity Treasury needs, including funding, liquidity, capital, asset / liability management, foreign exchange, cash management & treasury operations
  • To lead Treasury initiatives to automate processes and improve efficiency across the Group.
  • To prepare and provide reports to senior management on Treasury matters as appropriate
  • Lead ongoing improvements in Treasury reporting including identification and design
  • Support Intercompany loans process
  • Key Requirements :

  • Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential)
  • Accounting qualification (Essential)
  • CA qualified (Essential)
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills essential. Aptitude for working with data and financial modelling skills
  • 5 years' Management Experience (Essential)
  • Working in a multinational group (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of accounting principle
  • Proactive thinking but also willing to learn and work as part of a team.
  • Good organisational skills ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Eye for detail.
  • Proven experience working in a corporate treasury function
  • Commercial cash and debt facility management experience
  • Experience of line management and maintaining external relationships
