Mr D Food, a division of, is looking for a highly talented Brand Assistant to join our team in Cape Town. You will be responsible for building the Mr D Food brand.

This position reports to the Marketing Manager.

Your responsibilities will include :

  • Assist the marketing manager with the execution of all brand campaigns and brand initiatives BriefingProject coordinationLogistics
  • Work alongside suppliers to ensure all required promotional and branding items are delivered on time and in full
  • Support the sales team with marketing requests
  • Assist the brand team with the rollout of driver branding
  • Build collaborative relationships with the creative team as well as the external advertising agency
  • Assist with the planning and execution of events and activations
  • Compile weekly and monthly competitive and marketing reports
  • Brief the CS team on all planned marketing initiatives
  • Work with budgets and project plans
  • Attributes required :

  • Previous experience developing a local brand within the lifestyle , FMCG or retail industry
  • Agency experience (worked with an external agency or worked in client service at an agency)
  • A grounding in marketing and communication principles
  • Tech Savvy with an inquisitive mind.
  • Solutions-oriented, can-do attitude and high energy
  • Highly organized and efficient, whilst being flexible and versatile.
  • An enthusiasm for and an understanding of e-commerce and customer service
  • Exceptional English writing skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • A basic understanding of google analytics and google adwords
  • Some experience with email marketing tools.
  • The appetite for being involved in a startup environment
  • Qualifications :

  • A BCom degree in Marketing
  • A minimum of 2 years working within a brand team
