The Hub will be responsible for the dispatch, receipt and management of parcels within Takealot & Superbalist. It’s primary objective therefore centres around strict timelines, efficiency and cost effectiveness.

This position reports to the General Manager Logistics (North).

Your responsibilities will include :

  • Be responsible for the overall running of the facility and all other secondary roles which flow from this function
  • Manage Customer Service escalations
  • Effective management of assigned team
  • Ensure employee coverage is optimal to meet customer demands
  • Manage the Collects shift roster : ensure work is appropriately shared, covered and completed and the department functions effectively
  • Ensure proper training and re-training of Collects agents
  • Manage performance of the Customer Collects team
  • Establish and review key quality and productivity benchmarks, and ensure accountability amongst the team to meet their performance targets
  • Create and foster a cohesive team and promote a positive work environment
  • Assessment, development and updating of procedures and processes related to the Customer Collects Department
  • Manage customer facing issues with internal stakeholders
  • Provide weekly reports to GM Logistics North on the department workload activity and efficiency
  • Contribute to the development of effective management tools, standards, guidelines and reports applicable to the customer collects team
  • Ensure excellent customer service
  • Ensure the effective management of site and assigned resources. Oversee general maintenance / repairs.
  • Ensure strict adherence to OHASA and SHE
  • Manage IR and ER (in conjunction with your HR Partner) within the company framework
  • Continuous improvement
  • Works closely with senior management and Human Resources to resolve issues and ensure quality service to our customers.
  • Attributes required :

  • Results driven individual who has demonstrated ability working in a high performance environment.
  • Must have good attention to details, and be able to manage the big picture and continuous changes in customer requests and deliveries of product.
  • Must be able to manage multiple, complex tasks and deal easily with pressure on a day in and day out basis.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Good understanding of business principles and practices; can effectively manage the materials function with a bottom line result.
  • Qualifications :
  • Grade 12
  • Grade 12
  • Diploma or certificate in Supply Chain Management and or Customer Service
  • 8 or more years of related work and knowledge in a face to face customer service environment. Retail or logistics knowledge will be beneficial.
  • Require with a minimum of 4 years in a managerial experience
