We are looking to recruit a Head : Regulatory Affairs. This Involves This role will be responsible for forming and expressing a central group view of regulatory across the Group.
Serving as a central point of contact and liaison with financial services sector regulators (such as the Prudential Authority, the Financial Sector Conduct Authority, the National Credit Regulator, and the Financial Intelligence Centre) in enhancing communications and preserving a trusting and transparent relationship with such regulators.
This includes maintaining regulatory returns and coordinating group-wide engagement with regulators as required. The role will therefore also act as a liaison for regulatory risk management issues, and a channel for identifying, escalating, and managing regulatory risk.
Maintaining a deep understanding of all legislation affecting the Group in order to provide support and solutions as appropriate.
Role Responsibilities Support a productive working relationship with key stakeholders, namely the financial services sector regulators, the Information Regulator, the BBBEE Commissioner, the Competition Law Commissioner, as well all Business Units, Head of Control Functions and Brand and Customer division.
Develop a proactive engagement approach with the Group’s regulators, including a formal communications plan to facilitate the scheduling of essential meetings and encouraging information sharing to maintain effective relationships with these authorities as well as maintaining general oversight across the business.
Using the established Legal Forum to communicate, share information, lead engagements and commentary on regulations impacting the broader group as well as conduct and training as and when required.
Using data and having identified trends, analyse and make meaningful business recommendations to mitigate market conduct risks and drive a mature conduct discipline.
Create a process for monitoring the full lifecycle of regulatory issues that are identified; Maintain and sustain a stakeholder relationship with all the regulators working closely across the Governance cluster and the Corporate Affairs office for support Prepare and submit applications and reports to applicable regulators.
Assess business’ preparedness for the regulatory engagements and provide guidance, support, and management of any resulting mitigating actions.
Monitor and analyse regulatory developments and advise on how the proposed changes will affect current and proposed business activities.
