To support and oversee the implementation of regional go to market strategy / initiatives through successful management processes and engagement with key stakeholders with the support of Regional Trade Marketing Manager and manage a team to deliver- optimize and drive execution of brand, channel and regional strategies, delivering on regional profit targets and supporting the regional sales force.

Champion brand and channel execution standards in the region, ensuring brand building. Further to manage a selection of customer outlets geographically with several contact points which will ensure that we are the preferred supplier to deal with in the Liquor Industry and show profitable win-win outcomes for Distell Key Performance Areas include, but not limited to : Implement and support the go to market strategy with RTM support for trade channels, brands & events for the region, including regional and national initiatives :

  • Input into national and regional cycle grids
  • Participation in the Channel Plan development to ensure increased market understanding and alignment align with central office
  • Build regional insights enabling the regional ownership of : I&O creation, Customer prioritization, Campaign targeting and mechanics, Bold initiatives, Pricing compliance, Merchandising execution, Assets, Events
  • Build consumer / Occasion pathways and nodes to inform targeting and investment of consumer facing initiatives(including Influencer)
  • Develop the high level regional commercial plan and investment strategy, across trade channels, events, Regional Key Accounts, Regional Trade Marketing support and insights.
  • Own regional input into national brand and channel programs
  • Champion the Brand and Channel execution standards in a region, ensuring review and learning’s shared with business
  • Champion the eventing strategy and ensure Distell market leadership in eventing channel
  • Drive and manage regional trade marketing team to deliver on targets and plans :

  • Lead with the support of regional Trade Marketing Manager (RTMM) regional planning and review sessions with sales teams and head office, to drive insights, learning’s and course correction where necessary
  • Compile detailed cycle grids for each category & channel
  • Assist in driving and coordinating generic point of sale (POS / ROI) development with central office
  • Implement appropriate Tailored Service Package (TSP) for outlet according to National guidelines and market conditions and drive continuous enhancement in terms of Market share delivery
  • In conjunction with sales teams, identify and recommend outlets for distribution and Point of Purchase communication such as merchandising, consumer contact activities and events.
  • Evaluate cycle and promotional needs for each category
  • Manage execution of promotions according to plans in conjunction with sales, merchandising and promotional teams
  • Drive and enable regional team to execute campaign grids, events, assets and account contracts OTIF for regional gain
  • Sign off and oversee the management of 3rd party execution partners, delivering on plans within brand and channel execution standards
  • Drive workload balancing checks, ensuring that regional execution capacity matches the regional execution plans and adjust where necessary
  • Oversee management of regional funds and CRM system maintenance
  • Provide leadership and champion relevant Channel, Events, Sales, Promotions capabilities and thinking within the region :

  • Champion regional insight, channel and eventing capability, mentoring and coaching regional teams
  • Team to operate at desired competence in line with role profiles as agreed through competence self- assessments
  • Effectively manage performance reviews and career management cycles with team to develop future fit competence
  • Drive own development to ensure specialist knowledge / skills to remain world class
  • Continuously review regional insights and trade innovations :

  • Review and benchmark; regional spend, competitor business models, new planning and execution processes, innovative assets, merchandising, event and campaign delivery solutions to improve business performance and develop a competitive advantage.
  • Strong matrix management skills to drive collaboration between region and Centre

  • Manage all financial resources according to allocated budgets.

  • The successful candidate must preferably have the following experience / skills :

  • Relevant Commercial qualification
  • 3 - 6 years’ experience in FMCG environments
  • Strong capability in sales, key accounts, channel and brand marketing -good operational, commercial and planning skills
  • Proven track record within FMCG environment in managing brand, channels and categories
  • Strategic (and systems) / analytical thinker
  • Proven) Negotiation skills
