  • Our prominent and respected client, a non-profit organisation, seeks to appoint an experienced 2IC, reporting directly to the CEO, who has excellent leadership and management skills;
  • to their Port Elizabeth based business unit. This is an awesome career opportunity for a dynamic and business minded senior manager.

    The purpose of the role is to oversee and be responsible for the efficient and consistent service orientated management of the organisation and maintain the excellent standard of geriatric care and services for all residents.

  • Tasks include (high level) : Influence stakeholders daily. Whether it is managers internally, residents, family members, board members or third-party vendors;
  • you will actively engage at a senior level across the spectrum and develop these networks. Actively involved in the planning and implementation of strategic direction within and across the organisation.

    Responsible and accountable for managing a core team who run day-to-day operations. Oversight of financial aspects ensuring that all policies and procedures are adhered to protecting the organisations financial health Ensure corporate governance is always maintained.

    Management of staff including performance management and training. Qualifications and experience : Relevant business degree (B.

    Com / Business Science / Business Management) Postgraduate degree would be advantageous 10+ years working experience at a similar level Proven track record in a General Management / Senior Management role within the service industry would be preferred Previous experience in geriatric care or within the hospitality sector preferred / advantageous Competencies and skills : Ability to coach and mentor the team Ability to find solutions to business / operationally challenges Comfortable to facilitate and resolve conflict in a fair and firm manner, across all levels Capacity to make critical and sound business decisions considering both the short and long term implications Ability to negotiate at all levels Client (resident) centric / client (resident) driven excellence Excellent interpersonal skills Sound understanding of Geriatric care and relevant legislation applicable to retirement villages would be advantageous Strong (fair but firm) leader Strong business acumen (financial and commercial) Attributes : Accountable / accountability Flexible and agile thinking in a dynamic business environment Attention to detail Business minded Collaborative mindset Decisive Dedicated Empowered Highest integrity Innovative Professional Solutions focussed Strong work ethic Team player Visionary and innovative leadership This role reports directly to the CEO.
