Capitec’s internal design studio is looking for a highly talented Design Lead passionate about creating intuitive, beautifully crafted marketing campaigns across multiple brand touchpoints to join our studio and help shape our much-loved brand.
WHO YOU ARE
A top-notch Visual Communication Designer, you have a solid portfolio showcasing recent projects. Thinking visually comes naturally to you.
You think about the big picture, the brand, and the client takeout from concept to execution. You enjoy working with a team on a mission.
You are adept at collaborating with the brand, UX and business development folk to find elegant but practical solutions to design challenges.
You love creating design experiences and have meticulous attention to detail.
You’re a clear and articulate communicator. You’re deliberate about your design approach, and you rely on feedback from the team and internal clients to further your designs.
You thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
You are a key player in one of our design teams. Working closely with the Copy Lead, you both will be responsible for the team's creative delivery.
Your involvement will be from ideation to concept, production to launch, ensuring excellence, consistency, and quality-of-design thinking.
Digital campaigns are a focus, and you must therefore have strong experience across a range of mediums, including digital, social, integrated and sometimes even traditional.
YOU SHOULD HAVE
An online portfolio showcasing your current / latest work. Please provide a link in your application
At least 7 years’ experience in an agency / studio environment working on multiple accounts / brands and disciplines. We highly favour curious minds, tenacity, and cultural match
Experience in a lead role within a creative team
A focus on digital design with a strong background in graphic design comfortable with a blended approach
Proven experience in digital campaigns, including social media, Google Display Network environments
A talent for motion graphics and HTML 5 (that would give you rock star status)
Proven experience with industry-standard design software (Adobe Cloud, Figma, Sketch, InVision, Abstract, Google Web Designer, etc.)
WE HOPE YOU HAVE
8+ years experience in an advertising and communications environment with a specific exposure in an advertising agency / internal studio environment as a copywriter.
5+ years’ experience in a digital agency
Experience in the application of HTML and CSS
Experience in mobile app development (user interface design etc.)
Experience in web animation
JIRA experience and working in sprints
3D & animation development
Prototyping and user testing
Previous supervisory experience
Qualifications (Minimum)
A relevant tertiary qualification in Design
Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)
A relevant post-graduate qualification in Design
Minimum :

Presentation and virtual collaboration techniques
