Job Summary

The Strategic Partner Consultant - Banking is tasked with working closely with the South Africa Project Manager to originate relationships with relevant stakeholders across the South African corporate / commercial banking sector to contribute to Bitpesa’s country strategy.

Strong relationships with banking partners is key to our business and the Strategic Partner Consultant - Banking will ensure that we obtain the right level of engagement.

She / he will lead initial engagements with banking partners; and ensure the availability, arrangement and accuracy of a database of all relevant stakeholder information required to support the South Africa Project Manager.

The role will also involve interactions with sales, treasury, legal and compliance.

This is a temporary remote position, with a duration of 6 months , ideally based in Cape Town or Johannesburg, South Africa.

Responsibilities

  • Identify relevant stakeholders across key functions and seniority levels in potential partner organisations.
  • Deep dive into stakeholder profiles to define robust, actionable engagement strategies for each individual stakeholder and partner organisation.
  • Conduct initial meetings to qualify leads, together with the South Africa Project Manager.
  • Attend calls and / or in-person meetings to further the company’s objectives.
  • Maintain a database of information that is readily available, organised and updated.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field from a recognised university.
  • 7 to 9 years’ experience within a South African bank.
  • Own network across the South African banking sector, especially outside of the Big 5 banks
  • Experience working in a Relationship Manager / Business Manager / Business Development / Client Coverage Manager role covering Financial Institutions is an added advantage.
  • Experience working for fast-growth, rapidly-scaling companies is an added advantage.
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills.
  • A resourceful, strong and flexible work ethic.
  • Excellent communication skills and a personable attitude are keys.
