Our client is looking for a Sales & Marketing Manager with experience in a Game Reserve / Lodge for this exciting role. Position is for their office in Hillcrest.
Minimum Requirements : Marketing degree and / or equivalent 5 years + work experience as Sales & Marketing Manager, or similar job role 3-5 years’ experience at a managerial level ·Extensive experience and knowledge of the tourism industry Experience as a sales agent Strong administrative skills Professional demeaner Selling, negotiating and influencing, analysis and decision-making, and management skills.
Areas of knowledge : the business environment, product knowledge, and financial awareness. Success criteria for the position : Increasing occupancy of the lodges (increase in sales) Agreements with large groups allow for successful repeat business Implementation of an effective marketing strategy for each lodge that tells the story of the Game Lodge Implementation of effective marketing and sales policies and procedures Areas of responsibility : Acquisition of sales Maintenance and review of the bookings into the reserve Managing the retail of all the lodges.
Marketing the lodges to the required clientele Managing the social media, public relations agencies. Work tasks Key Functions : Forecasting revenue stream of the lodges through agreed sales plans.
Follow up on leads created by Brand Ambassador & Marketing to close the deal Identify new markets and business opportunities and increase sales.
analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions. Strong understanding of the business financial model in order to increase business profits.
exploring specific needs; anticipating new opportunities Attracting (Cold calling) potential customers and / or larger groups and promoting the Reserve.
Travelling nationally to secure sales for the Reserve Acquire and develop new business accounts and prepare sales proposals for clients.
Working closely with Marketing agency & Brand Ambassador in communicating lodging rates that are market related. Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings.
Activities include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc. Assist customers in booking their stay at the reserve Ensure guests needs are met, manage any expectations.
The ability to interact comfortably with both national and international guests. Full knowledge of Game Reserve operations and the ability to communicate effectively to existing and potential clients in order to increase occupancy of the lodges.
Creating key relationships with travel agents for the promotion of the Game Reserve Reservation policies and procedures drafted and implemented Working closely with direct line manager in agreeing corporate bookings and VIP guest rates.
Maintain and review the reservations logbook and monitor daily arrivals, late cancellations and no-shows. Purchase of retail items per lodge and tracking the performance of each items to increase on-site sales · Decision-making power Management of contractual obligations with marketing and PR agencies.
Management of relationships with tour operators (nationally and internationally) Development of rate per lodge in line with financial obligations of the business The identification of Travel Agents to form relationships Together with investor the type of merchandise for the retail shops
