What you will enjoy doing

  • Support and implement the sourcing, risk mitigation, BEE and Saving strategies for indirect materials and services
  • Conduct supply market analysis to identify, validate and select suppliers through the supplier selection process.
  • Co-ordinate the RFP (Tenders) process ensuring that the RFP outcomes is fact-based and fair .
  • Ensure all suppliers have a valid supply-contract / service level agreement and manage the expiry of same to ensure that a replacement contract / service level agreement is in place.
  • Ensure Compliance with Alpla Global and Regional Procurement Policy.
  • Prepare Cost-Structure-Models in line with market fundamentals to support cost negotiations and budgeted cost adjustments.
  • Co-ordinate supplier audits
  • Co-ordinate supplier trials with the site, technical and product development personnel and ensure trial approval protocol is adhered to.
  • Agree pricing with supplier and communicate to the organisation .
  • Ensure corrective actions are facilitated with non conforming suppliers
  • Prepare cost movement notification,
  • Liase with Planning and Operations to ensure indirect materials and service requirements have adequate supply cover.
  • Responsible for all services (PPE, Pest Control, Security, Cleaning, Hygiene, Safety, Waste Removal), Industrial Gases, Chemicals & Lubricants, Forklifts, Pallet-Jacks, Reach Trucks, Flexible materials (Strapping, Stretch Wrap, Liner Bags, Pallets (local and export), Returnable Cages / Bins, Outsourced Services, Corrugates, Consumables & Stationery.
  • Develop local strategies for all areas of responsibility within the Indirect Materials and services framework.
  • What makes you great

  • University degree in Business / CIPS Diploma or equivalent with 5+ years of procurement experience within a manufacturing company.
  • A strong understanding of business law, country regulations for import, indirect-material sourcing and outstanding negotiation skills
  • Ability to organize diverse information, analyse and solve disputes
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with people inside and outside the organization are required
  • Strong understanding of Procurement factors that influence manufacturing, cost and quality of operations is preferred
