Multinational Investment company is looking for a Senior Human Resources Manager to join their Southern Africa team in thier regional office in Cape Town.

The Senior HR Manager’s core role is to oversee the HR function and provide strategic support to senior management in all matters relating to HR.

Senior HR Manger will be charge of managing the day-to-day HR processes, as well as developing the HR strategy of the organisation to recruit and retain high quality members of staff in the UK and Africa.

This role is based in our Cape Town offices with some travel to meet face to face with employees in our regional African and UK offices.

This position covers a wide-range of activities requiring the incumbent to be able to provide strategic HR direction as well as carry out routine HR tasks in a hands-on manner.

Working Knowledge of employee legislation in South Africa and the United Kingdom, with some experience relocating expatriate staff will be extremely beneficial as the company has regional offices and country presence in West, East and Southern Africa and investments in 10 countries in sub-Saharan Africa.

Duties : Overall responsibility for HR the functionManagement of Office / HR administrator (to be recruited and located in our Cape Town office)Regular communication with senior management to inform them of HR issues and develop the HR strategyOversee recruitment process from start to finish, job advertisement, use of agents and contract negotiation and onboarding with support of Office / HR administrator.

Developing and implementing HR policies and proceduresProviding advice and conducting performance improvement plans, disciplinary and grievance hearings, supporting managers in undertaking them, taking notes and writing confirmation and follow up letters with managers Advising on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits and consultants’ fee increasesManaging the appraisal process, and implementing other feedback mechanisms as necessaryUndertaking regular salary reviews and negotiating with staff on issues relating to pay and conditionsOverseeing employee benefits, monthly payroll processes - liaising with payroll and benefits providers and the finance team.

  • Ensuring employee data and information is updated and maintained inline with GDPR. Payroll and benefits platforms are based in the UK at presentInterpreting and advising on employment legislationAnalysing training needs in conjunction with departmental managers, planning and delivering training, including inductions for new staffPromoting diversity, equity and inclusion as part of the culture of the organisationOverall responsibility for onboarding and offboarding as well as the full cycle of the employee’s serviceMonitoring of non-employment contractor agreements and initiating extensionsResponsible for monitoring IR35 compliance (Training will be provided)Focal point for UKVI and all related activities like sponsorship licence and visas (Training will be provided)HR KPI reporting Experience and education requirements : Relevant B- Degree and full membership of the South African Board of People Practice (SABPP) with at least 5 years’ relevant work experienceBroad based generalist HR experience, including multi-jurisdictional exposureHR skills in recruitment, employee terms and conditionsInternational exposure;
  • emerging markets / sub-Saharan African experience desirableCompensation and benefits experience (preferably with some expatriate remuneration experience).

    Familiarity with relocating expatriate staffGood working knowledge of employment legislation in South Africa and United KingdomFamiliarity with Cezanne HR software is desirable
